Publisher's summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

One month. Two rivals. A plot twist they didn't see coming....

Nora is a cut-throat literary agent at the top of her game. Her whole life is books.

Charlie is an editor with a gift for creating best sellers. And he's Nora's work nemesis.

Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.

She's no heroine. He's no hero. So can they take a page out of an entirely different book?

Set over one sizzling August, Book Lovers is the new chemistry-filled 'rivals to lovers' rom-com from New York Times number one best seller Emily Henry.

Incredible swoon

This is my favourite romance! Nora and Charlie are amazing. The story is unnecessarily long, but I loved everything else about it!

Good story amazing narration

The story was good, Nora was a different FL and I enjoyed seeing her open up.
Julia Whelan did amazing job narrating this and I differently will listen to more stories that she narrated.

obsessed and swooning over this book

Everything about this romance is immaculate. From the moment these characters meet I could not get enough of them. It's the most dreamy and sexy enemies to lovers story I've ever read. The banter is on point.

I loved this. More than a general rom com it was sassy with lots of laugh out loud moments. The characters were fab.

A Good Romance

Nora is a literary agent who takes care of everyone. Charley is an editor known to be tough on his clients. When Nora pitches him a romance from her favorite author he rejects it out of hand. After the novel is a huge hit Nora and her sister take a vacation to the North Carolina Town where the novel was set only to find it is the home town of the disgruntled editor.

Nice romance. Pacing a bit slow plot with a few holes. The long vacation to Carolina for two New Yorker for example. Our how 2 (near) teen girls supported themselves in nyc. It dragged for me at the end. I liked the message about love with boundaries.

Julia Whelan was excellent with the delivery

Not necessarily a romance book

While the moments between Nora and Charlie were magic, this really felt like a growth story with romance themes.

The beginning of the story started off so beautifully and made me feel so safe to be back in a world created by Emily.

However, there were points when the story just more so felt written about her sister and her with Charlie as a sub-plot (kind of like the Heart Principle for reference). I found myself skipping so much of those scenes because I just didn’t feel connected to that part of the story or really cared about it at all. Which caused me to put it down for a week before finishing.

I’m glad I did because her and Charlie really are magic, I just wish it was market better as more of a healing/growth in case you’re a mood reader and not really in the mood for that type of story.

I would still recommend though!

I was hooked

There are so many reasons why I love this book but I don’t know how to explain them without spoiling the story so I will just say that I read it in a day and I didn’t know how the story would go until I got there. Nothing was obvious. This book turned my bad day into a happy one.

Sunshine in a book

This book is a pure shot of serotonin. I’ve loved every moment.

I only have one critique and that is that I’ve never, for one bit thought they were enemies. The chemistry and the banter was blistering and on point from the get-go.

Love. Love. Love.
