Publisher's summary

He is risen indeed! Here are the best reasons why it's true!

Culture is doing its best to convince the world there is nothing special about Jesus. And many Christians never get beyond a Sunday school understanding of their own faith. As a result, Christianity's most important historical fact—the resurrection—is often the most misunderstood, relegated to Easter and funeral services, creating a powerless Christianity.

In Body of Proof, acclaimed apologist and scholar Dr. Jeremiah Johnston sets out to show why Jesus's victory over death is central to a believer's faith. Straightforward, accessible, and practical, this book examines the latest archaeological and textual findings and presents seven tangible, fresh reasons to believe Jesus really rose from the dead—and why it matters today as the foundation of our hope in the face of suffering and grief. When you fully understand the implications of the resurrection, you will begin to understand the power of Christ in you. This changes everything.

Should be required reading for every church member

Jeremiah Johnston brings his scholarly mind and work and presents it to the “average” follower of Jesus in an easily understandable and memorizable work. If only we could all take every argument and fact for instant recall when we share the good news of Jesus to our skeptic family and friends. This book should be required reading for any church that is wanting to build the critical thinking skills of its members.

Well done Jeremiah.

Interesting new ideas

I will further research some of the evidence in this book. This book presents some good research. Some of he narrator’s pronunciation is distracting.

A book written for Christians who already believe

The author says at the beginning that his book will be a scholarly book, but then spends the rest of the book just quoting the Bible over, and over, and over again, which is not scholarly at all. This book was nothing special, or new. It's just another typical Christian apologetics book about the same old Trope of anecdotal, hear say, bad resurrection evidences that we should all believe, because the Bible says so.
Plus the author talks about Oxford University like he wants us to believe that he graduated from there when he did not. Just because he went to a school inside the town of Oxford. UK, and got to use Oxford's Library, it does not mean that he went to Oxford University.

Disappointed

The author begins by sharing his impressive academic credentials but disappoints in laying out a case for the historicity of the resurrection. There are strong arguments available to Christians and seekers but Johnston uses red herrings, speculation and poor logic throughout this book.
