Publisher's summary

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir's Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

Love this series!

At first I was kind of bored with the first book of this series but it picked up and now I'm glad I stuck with it. This is the best series!

Best narrator in the deried so far

I love this series and have read it in hardcopy twice. I have just finished listening to blood promise and I feel that this narrator was the best so far. To be honest, it was a little hard listening to the first three because the narrator‘s natural voices were high to begin with and by the time they got to doing less his voice it almost made her sound like a chipmunk. I am about to purchased the next in the series and hope that it is the same narrator and if not someone who has a naturally deeper voice when portraying Rose.

Nice Story Line and Plot

I read these when I was younger and never finished the series and was looking for more options in audiobooks (was using libraries). I like to have books playing in the car while I drive. So I re “read” them. Just as cute as they were before and I am glad I finished the series finally. It IS YA that’s for sure! Wish they had a series like this with adult MC’s and spice. But it was good.

Great book

Great book not a fan of the narrator, The voice for Adrian and Dimitri is awful. Lol Dimitri reminds me of Count Dracula. They used a different narrator than the first 3. I wish they would have used that narrator because having a good narrator can make or break an audiobook.

The storytelling

I wish this book had been made into the 1st movie instead of a TV series. The Vampire Academy movie didn’t really live up to its true potential though it was better than the critics said.
If it had started here in this book and the story had been laid out forward into the last books as movies and then worked its way backwards into the book 1-3 and the vibe had been a mix between the seriousness of underworld, but the romance of twilight and the martial arts skill training like StarWars this story would have been another global sensation a few years ago and possibly stood the test of time. I love Mead’s story telling and writing style though and know that I will continue to read this story again & again.

Great book, bad narrator

I LOVED Blood Promise, as much as Twilight if not more. The whole series is great, can't wait to see what happens next. BUT was not happy with the narrator at all, it was very disappointing to go from the first 3 books, the last 2 having the best narrator Khristine Hvan, who made you feel as if you were part of the story, to this narrator who just made it frustrating to keep up with, the worst being Dimitri and Adrian voices. Please got back to Khristine Hvan.
