Publisher's summary

Ryker calls it an accident. I call it another betrayal. He didn't want me to leave but didn't fight to keep me by his side. Wronged magically and devastated emotionally, I exile myself to another country, Dorley. Now I perform tricks under a tent, my mystical gifts a common sideshow.

Just as I'm accepting my self-inflicted fate, Ryker makes a move that forces me back to the Valley. But an ancient evil is stirring and follows me. With magical stones disappearing, the power I possess within makes me a target. Old hurts have to be put aside and enemies must unite or an evil strong enough to destroy us all will be unleashed.

Contains mature themes.

Felt rushed

A lot of wasted time for Bugs in this book. We’ve watched and waited through the 2 other books for things to heat up between her and Ryker. There should have been more time alone with them building up and having Bugs grow instead of clinging to running away. She demonstrated the ability to for close relationships and the constant doubt with Ryker while simultaneously not seeing Marra turn into a foe was kind of disappointing.

Narrator is fabulous but I feel like her voice was somehow sped up compared to what she sounds like in other books she’s narrated. Slowing the speed just made her sound a bit drunk

Overall good series. Hope there’s more to come.

Anti-climatic

Decent but it chopped off the ending with too much unanswered.. and honestly Ryker didn’t deserve Buggs.. could you imagine walking around that place and knowing all the other females he had been with, it would be a nightmare. It made him gross to me in a lot of ways but that’s just me. Anyway.. the story was very anti-climactic this huge build up and your thinking your climbing this huge mountain of a showdown only to get there and it’s just a little hill.. wish there would have been more..
