Another great installment in the Black series!

I love this series, the characters are quirky and believable. I like to listen to the stories using Audible and I found myself making time to listen whenever I could. Great read!

Another good one from Blake and Bray.

I love RC Bray as a narrator and Russell Blake never lets me down although many of his series start to follow certain patterns. This installment was good but I felt the first two were more suspenseful and better all around. The Roxy-Black witty exchanges felt forced here as does the interactions with Stan, although they can still be funny. I guessed the killer early on in this one as it was pretty obvious to me. The first two books I did not. All in all, worth a listen, but don't spend a full audible credit on this. Off to get the next adventure!

A very enjoyable series. Nothing earth shattering just good old fashioned detective stories with a sense of humor.

The quality of author Russell Blake's work and....

...RC Bray's and Braden Wright's narration justify a larger audiobook audience. The Artemus Black novels are unique and funny suspense novels. The JET series of espionage novels are consistently 5 star.

Love this narrator!

Would you listen to Black Is the New Black again? Why?

Yes. I love the BLACK series, and listening to the audiobook is even more fun than reading the book.

What other book might you compare Black Is the New Black to and why?

I haven't read other books like the BLACK series.

What does R.C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes his voice sound just like I imagined the characters would sound when I read the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I laughed a lot. That's why I read this series.

Any additional comments?

I have read all of Russell Blake's books. Each series is different, and none of the characters feel repeated. Check out his other audiobooks if you like these.

Formulaic and utterly predictable

Although Blake's turn of a phrase and descriptive lingo are fun, the plotting is so transparent as to remove any hint of mystery or suspense. Bray does a great job of narration. His miscellaneous voices for the various characters is remarkable.
