Warren Buffett, the legendary Omaha investor has never written a memoir, but finally has given Alice Schroeder unprecedented access to him and all those closest to his work, opinions, struggles, triumphs, follies and wisdom. The result is this personally revealing and complete biography of 'The Oracle of Omaha', indispensable reading for those who wish to know the man behind the outstanding achievements.

"An epic account of the greatest capital accumulator in history." (The Times)
"An absorbing read ... The Warren Buffett who emerges from these pages is unorthodox, honest, gifted and, in many ways, admirable. In the business of life, however, one suspects that this complex man has rather a lot of debits, as well as credits, on his personal balance sheet." (Observer)
"A monumental work ... you feel like you've been in the presence of a monumentally flawed but riveting character ... utterly compelling." (Evening Standard)
"A well-written, forensically researched and sensitive insight into the Midas of our times." (Spectator)
"Buffett has been ahead of the curve for most of the past fifty years, making him one of the world's richest people. The Snowball provides clues about how he's done it." (Financial Times)

"Only for die-hard Buffet fans."
I've no doubt that the book is a well researched and reasonably accurate description of Warren Buffet's life, but ultimately it failed to entertain me and doesn't have sufficient detail to illuminate that much of the method behind his investment choices.
At least this version is mercifully abridged from the enormous length of the book upon which it's based. Only for die-hard Buffet fans.
"Great Voice and a great story. Very enjoyable book"
Great overview of Warren Buffets life and gives a good inside view of his life.
it was like watching a film. starting off purely focused on making money then later in life realising money can't buy happiness. that's not to say he wasnt a family man. but his drive to make the most of everyday is inspiring. you certainly got the feeling his drive was contagious to the people he met. listening to this book makes me want to scrub up on my stocks knowledge. there was sometimes in this book where I thought I was having a physics lesson.
...the story line was well written and the narrator delivered superbly. I look forward to starting my own snowball
"Great listen. Unabridged version would have been better"
The first part of this audiobook is the most insightful. The rest is a little wooly, but interesting none-the-less.
Just wish they hadn't abridged the audiobook. Real shame.
"excellently written and narrated"
a wonderful insight into the life of Warren Buffet.
beautifully written. would highly recommend to anyone from investors or to those who love a biography.
"Great book for investors"
Great book for investors, especially those interested in buying stocks and shares. Plenty of great insights.
"Great for younger readers"
I was recommended this book by my uncle as he said it was fitting for my age (in my 20s). It was. Great story, well thought out. Never too technical in the business side.
Great story with pearls of wisdom. Positioning and timing are everything.
Watching the his transition from a hoarder which will should be in our youth to a giver in his old age is inspiring
"Great book about a legend, worth every minute"
Great book about a legend, worth every minute. Loved it and learnt a lot about Warren, investing and outlook on life in general.
