Wonderful stuff. Fry's mastery of English, interesting biographics and self-deprecating wit form an enticing amalgam. If you are a fan of Fry buy it!

Having Stephen read his own stories feels like sitting in the court yard of an old pub on a warm summer day and having a chat with him. Very entertaining and funny.

"Fry the young man: A life exposed and explained"

An excellent autobiography of Stephen the Cambridge student and young comedian, actor, entertainer, broadcaster and chronicler of the 80's and early 90's. All delivered with honesty and his sonorous Oxbridge accent. Entertaining and informative. Wonderful.

    "Great book!"

Stephens story is certainly not dull at any point and he at all times paints a very vivid picture during his chronicles. I was aware he had a shall we say a colourful past and his rise to fame is very well documented through these narrated pages. Very enlightening I shall be listening to his others with great interest.

    Baah!

"Stephen Fry is a fascinating mind."

I could listen to Stephen Fry read the phonebook. He is an institution, who has lived a fascinating life as a show biz high flyer. He covers ground from his Cambridge days and his first forays into comedy with the footlights, through to early writing jobs, plays on the West End, Black Adder and A Bit of Fry and Laurie. Just a note that this is only an epoch in Stephen's story which began with "Moab is my washpot" and will continue in future books. Oh, and he also helped me realise I am addicted to sugar!

    "A Change For Future Reading"

I have admired the work of Stephen Fry for several years, but have never before read an autobiography by anyone. An added feature was the author himself reading the book, as through ill health. I can no longer read for myself, Audibles offered selection are first-class. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and will no longer rule-out biographies.

Thanks Audible, It's so nice to get back into books.

    "Good Old National Treasure"

Yes, he rambles on a bit - but in such an engaging way that when it was finished I found myself searching itunes, hoping there might be another part I'd somehow missed. Stephen entertained me and kept me sane all through the seemingly endless Christmas cooking. He tells the story of his rise to fame, with wit (he is Stephen Fry, after all) but in a way that makes you feel all the self-doubt and uncertainty that accompanied every step. Perhaps just occasionally he is a little self-indulgent; but it is the honesty that lifts this memoir above the general run of show-biz success stories. It's funny, it's intriguing; but most of all, it is the story of a unique and extraordinary person, from the inside.

    "There goes my hero!"

I was hesitant to get this book at first, due to the term "autobiography" in its title. After all, the market has been swamped by completely redundant autobiographies lately.

Stephen Fry's Autobiography however turned out to be anything but redundant. This is not simply a book about one person, it is a book about a genius. From the first word to the very last I was thoroughly entertained, not only by the content but also by Fry's fantastic reading. He is without a doubt my favourite audiobook narrator.

And unlike me who stumbles over sentences while writing a simple review, Fry seems to be the master of every single word he writes in this book. Bravo!

    "Entertaining"

I'm not usually interested in the lives of celebrities but thought this might be well written and read. It was interesting and witty as you would expect from this charming man who manages to still retain some humility despite his huge success. A great audio book to dip into now and then-the chronology didn't seem too important.

"Fry by Fry, what more can you ask?"

I haven't read or listened to 'Moab', so I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to jump straight into this book, but its fine to start with this one - you don't need to have read the prequel.

It is exactly as you would imagine Stephen Fry to be - intelligent, eloquent, self-affacing, and brilliant. Fry is at his witty, open, unashamed yet vulnerable best. If you're a fan of Stephen, you won't want to miss this.

    "Fry Chronicles"

Having lived in Cawston at the same time as a very naughty little Fry I had a more personal reason than most to want to read the Fry Chronicles. I wasn't disappointed in any respect, the narration is excellent and captivating, the story of Stephens life amusing, moving and engaging. I listened, then I listened again, and I'm now on a third go round. The funny thing is that the biography is so interesting that I don't listen for the parts I can consider contemporary to my own 'biography'; I just listen!

Well worth12 hours of anybody's time.
