My life in the red dirt of Uganda...
"Sometimes I want to spend hours talking with my best friends about boys and fashion and school and life. I want to go to the gym; I want my hair to look nice; I want to be allowed to wear jeans. I want to be a normal young woman living in America, sometimes. But I want other things more. All the time. I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day. I want to be loved and cuddled by a hundred children and never go a day without laughing. I want to wake up to a rooster’s crow and open my eyes to see lush green trees that seem to pulse with life against a piercing blue sky and the rusty red soil of Uganda. I want to be challenged endlessly. I want to be taught by those I teach, and I want to share God’s love with people who otherwise might not know it. I want to work so hard that I end every day filthy and too tired to move. I want to make some kind of difference, no matter how small, and I want to follow the calling God has placed on my heart. I want to give my life away, to serve the Lord with each breath. At the end of the day, no matter how hard, I want to be right here in Uganda." -Katie Davis

Wow! Wow! Wow! A must-read folks. Even though I'm much older than she is, I still want to be like Katie when I grow up. :-) Such a wonderful journey and so happy to be educated on how I too can make a difference.
The wonder and love that is contained in every word. I loved the stories of how she came to adopt her children.
Katie, hello! I so wanted to do that when I grew up. In another life/time I am Katie. She is so amazing. Hearing how God has worked through her is just awesome.
No. But I really loved her voice. She did a great job.
God speaks, Katie listens.
So very touching.
Passion, Humility, Christ-likeness
The dedication and passion of Katie. She doesn't hesitate to talk about her weakness and difficulties, but always is obedient to God's Love in Christ. She is truly an inspiration and and encouragement! The effect of her love towards those orphans can not be measured!
She had a voice that made you believe that it was Katie herself who was reading the story.
No, I enjoyed listening to one or two chapters at a time.
Recommend this book highly!
Yes. This is an amazing story of a young lady giving her life to follow the leading of her heart.
Katie was my favorite because she has such a passion for her life.
Beautiful, heartwarming and inspirational
I liked hearing about the lives of the children in Uganda...
I think my favorite part was when the Katie took on the first three girls and created a lovely family...
Didn't read the print...so I can't answer that question.
It is great to see a real person do what seems to be an impossible task. Many times, Katie's story brought me to tears because of her faith in God to say
Being a guy, I would have messed up getting the feminine emotions.
There were so many. When you think God can't do anymore with Katie, it happens again and again.
To see such a young woman doing the seemingly impossible, is just a wonderful thing to experience what Jesus has done through Katie. As stated in my title, I shed many tears at what she shared with us. This is one of the best inspirational books I have ever read.
Inspiring, uplifting, amazing
All the emotions of the beautiful children
Love and unconditional sacrifice for the lives of children
Probably not, only because I seldom listen to books twice. But definitely enjoyed the first time around.
I loved the way Katie put her passion into action. Even through opposition, she forged ahead........ stopping for the
Relentless Love Explained
The story gave me an understanding of why a young woman would journey so far from home to fulfill her life's calling
My reaction was comfort at knowing a force greater than all of us had led Katie to Uganda.
Highly recommend to mothers, parents, family of someone who has chosed a life of service.
This book will be a blessing and an encouragement. The biblical principles are wonderful. I ordered 5 copies of the book after finishing it to distribute as gifts. In addition, the readers voice was pleasant to listen to.
The second time I've read this, always inspiring and incredibly moving, maybe my favourite book.
