quiet and some interference noise.

this particular recording is a little quiet and some background noise and sometimes some ghostly voices but overall it's fine.

Great story and narrator

I love the James Herriot books because they’re funny, surprising, and the narrator does a great job. All Things Bright and Beautiful isn’t my favorite book in the series because, ironically, I feel like the stories aren’t as “bright” and uplifting as in other books, and I enjoy the ones with happy endings. Still a great book, though!

Makes me feel better about life

These memoirs will be timeless and something fantastic to listen to when you want to chuckle and be touched at the same time. He had a gift.

A wonderful book for our particular age

It is not just about animals but it is wonderful about this county vet is in love with the whole around him.

For anyone who loves animals

I have his paperback books, on kindle, and now on audible. These stories are wonderful. I laugh, cry and smile to myself while falling asleep at night.

I love the narrator and the story 

The only thing that I don’t like about this book is the way the music interrupts the stories. When it starts, it feels like the chapter should be over, but it’s right in the middle of a story and then it starts again and the story continues. It just seems jarring and unnecessary. It would be better to have the music in between each chapter. But this series is so phenomenal! I read it 45 years ago and saw the original. PBS show with the same narrator as the main character and I still love it 

I love James Herriot

Having been a lover of animal stories for several years, I picked up a copy of one of Herriot's books at a thrift shop. Since then I have been hooked. Herriot's writing is terrific and his sense of humor is ageless. He has great insight into human nature and his ability to put that into words makes him a writer worth reading and/or listening to.

"All Things Bright and Beautiful" is definitely worth the listening time. I have been taking Mr. Herriot with me in the car when I am out driving. His stories are perfect for that. They are not so complicated that I can drive and easily listen, and also light-hearted, sometimes sad, and really entertaining.

The narrator of his books, Christopher Timothy, is also excellent. He has the ability to give Herriot, his friends and the local people of Daroby (sp?) perfect voices. I have in the past had trouble understanding British accents, but Timothy makes it easy.

I plan on listening to the entire series.

Herriot is Golden!

Herriot's works are Masterpieces! Each one is a testimony to a Great Veterinarian who is challenged with many situations. Some are easy to deal with, some were frustrations due to lack of pharmaceutical resources and discovery. But through it all, Herriot raises the bar for Vets Worldwide. He has been my Hero since I opened his first book 45 years ago! An amazing Man who walked an amazing path in his lifetime. 😊
