Publisher's summary

Full of beautiful, heart-wrenching, and hilarious stories, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years details one man's opportunity to edit his life as if her were a character in a movie. Years after writing his best-selling memoir, Donald Miller went into a funk and spent months sleeping in and avoiding his publisher. One story had ended, and Don was unsure how to start another. But he gets rescued by two movie producers who want to make a movie based on his memoir. When they start fictionalizing Don's life for film - changing a meandering memoir into a structured narrative - the real-life Don starts a journey to edit his actual life into a better story.

A Million Miles in a Thousand Years details that journey and challenges listeners to reconsider what they strive for in life. It shows how to get a second chance at life the first time around.

Nice read...inspiring!

Many examples in explanations. Moves well. Could have taken notes...should have taken notes. Could not put down after first couple of chapters.

You can learn so much.

This book is a story about stories that teaches you how to live a better story. now I could possibly say story a few more times but if you take the time to listen to the fine details it will help you to understand how your life is being lived and to encourage others to live a better life. for me this will definitely help with raising my children up to have a great life. A story worth telling

Outstanding book

I read blue like jazz and my life was changed at the idea of Christian spirituality. Not the cold routine and ritualistic church culture Christianity, but one who walked with the God who created everything. A Christianity that welcomed others who weren’t christians. This book gives practical wisdom about story and let’s each reader know that we can be a character in an amazing story. Another life changing book. Wonderful, Mr. Miller.

Great book... over too soon!

I truly enjoyed this book. I'm not certain what I expected coming in, I guess nothing because it was a blind recommendation. Not knowing what you're looking for or what books you enjoy, I would recommend it! It kept my attention and I could listen to it again. Plus, there are some gems in here, things that will make you nod your head in agreement and rewind to hear it again. That said, I listened at 1.3 speed, just a side note. Get the book, you will enjoy!

Interesting book

This was a good book, I thought it was going to be more about riding across the nation but it wasn't. His life is very interesting and hearing how to write scripts was good. I liked his book Scary Close better than this one. There is a lot of great advice in this book that is memorable.
