Publisher's summary

Lia Wilder, a barista with a flair for inventing specialty coffee, always enjoys the annual Battle of the Flowers parade held each summer in Headley Cross. All the local businesses get involved in the competition and build a float made entirely of flowers and colored lights. Lia has a not-so-secret crush on the local Christian DJ, Jordan Tanner, so when first prize of the Miss Battle title is a date with Jordan, Lia is railroaded into entering the contest.

Jordan Tanner isn’t convinced being a celebrity is a good thing. After all, he’s still single for that very reason. Even though he’s liked a girl from church for a long time, he’s afraid to ask her out for fear his status will scare her away.

Can coffee and the battle of the flowers make love bloom? Or will envy and betrayal throw too many thorns onto the path of true love?

Loved this sweet story!

This was a wonderful, sweet love story with just the right touch of drama. Christian based, it was a great listen while moving through my day. Lia is a shy barista and Jordan is a well known radio personality but they both go to the same church. When they are thrown together over to each put together a float for a parade, love blooms.
Lillian Rachel’s intonations and characterizations were perfect and I had no trouble following as the dialogue progressed. She has a lovely voice well suited to this book.

Sweet Romance with a Thrilling Twist

This contemporary Christian romance set in England is a well-told story about a crush on a radio personality turned to romance. What I wasn't expecting was an honest look at manipulation and bullying among adults - at work and church - and even some thrilling action near the conclusion. I've actually listened to it twice and thoroughly enjoyed Lillian Rachel's authentic British narration and characters. For a shorter novel, this story has a lot to offer. This audiobook was provided to me as a free review copy at my request, and I have voluntarily left this review.
