This is a page turner
What a good read! I love books with strong female characters and this did not disappoint!! I couldn’t stop listening to the story and even found myself sitting in my car so that the story wouldn’t end! Great characters, great narration and great story lines!

Well written page turner
I enjoyed this story and the performance of the book on Audible. I was a youngster during the 1960 s and couldn’t appreciate the struggle of African Americans during that decade. We have more to do. The author created sympathetic characters and a well designed plot.

Sad tale of the times
This story is hard to listen to at times. The characters use racist language and say hateful things that are shocking to hear. It really demonstrates how the times were back then.
