Publisher's summary

From USA Today bestselling author of The Hating Game Sally Thorne comes something a little unexpected… a historical rom-com that imagines Victor Frankenstein’s sheltered younger sister, and her attempts to create the perfect man.

For generations, every Frankenstein has found their true love and equal, unlocking lifetimes of blissful wedded adventure. Clever, pretty (and odd) Angelika Frankenstein has run out of suitors and fears she may become the exception to this family rule. When assisting in her brother Victor’s ground-breaking experiment to bring a reassembled man back to life, she realizes that having an agreeable gentleman convalescing in the guest suite might be a chance to let a man get to know the real her. For the first time, Angelika embarks upon a project that is all her own.

When her handsome scientific miracle sits up on the lab table, her hopes for an instant romantic connection are thrown into disarray. Her resurrected beau (named Will for the moment) has total amnesia and is solely focused on uncovering his true identity. Trying to ignore their heart-pounding chemistry, Angelika reluctantly joins the investigation into his past, hoping it will bring them closer. But when a second suitor emerges to aid their quest, Angelika wonders if she was too hasty inventing a solution. Perhaps fate is not something that can be influenced in a laboratory? Or is Will (or whatever his name is!) her dream man, tailored for her in every way? And can he survive what was done to him in the name of science, and love?

Filled with carriages, candlesticks, and corpses, Angelika Frankenstein Makes Her Match is the spooky-season reimagining of the well-known classic that reminds us to never judge a man by his cadaver!

Definitely memorable

The narrator did a fantastic job. Overall an innovative and memorable rom com. Quirky characters and plenty of angst/build up. The ending and epilouge were both very well executed. I really enjoyed this audiobook. Well done Sally Thorne!

Loved this revision of the Frankenstein tale

Sally Thorne's wonderful story telling drew me into this unique story about Angelika Frankenstein, sister to Victor. Victor is there too along with a unique cast of other characters. The tension between Will, Angelika's creation, and Angelika is palpable. I really had no idea what direction the story was headed or how it would end. The closer to the end I got the more afraid I was that a happy ending wasn't possible. I love how the story all tied back to Mary Shelly in the end.

Not as good as her other books

I wanted to love this as much as her other books, but it was just ok. I did listen the whole thing, but I wasn’t very invested in the characters.

Very creative and cute.

This is probably not for everyone but I loved it. Narration was great and the story was funny and not your usual formulaic romance.

Most Fun I've Had With An Audiobook In a Long Time

Angelika Frankenstein Makes Her Match is sheer perfection, with laugh-out-loud hilarious banter, a gripping plot, and toe-curling romance. You'll love this one to death!

Perfect spooky but not too spooky listen

I was so excited when I found this book!
I’m a fan of Frankenstein so I obviously had to read this 😋
It’s really the perfect book for spooky season without being super spooky🎃
I mean Bride of Frankenstein is pretty much the original monster romance right lol
If you love sci-fi, paranormal, monster romance then this one would be a good addition to your tbr,
or if you are looking for a Halloween themed book that’s not going to give you nightmares lol

I wanted to love this…

I had read “The Hating Game” and other books by the author. I was all in for a quirky and even bizarre book. At times it was; lively, fun, and strange. However, it lacked the tension the author is so adept at building in her other books. I had a hard time being drawn in by the main male protagonist. Mainly because he is half dead, but also( as he admits early) he is suppressing himself . It made him dull -and by contrast his rival was much more compelling( read:sexy). The vapid heroine ( that is not a criticism) must learn a lesson, but it felt like a bit of a slog for her to get there.
The supporting characters are compelling, the dialogue fun, the narration superb, the plot clever! I think I just stopped caring about the romance part of the story which was a disappointment.

meh

the book is ok. not for me I guess. I think the other guy competing for the female main character's love was more likeable. the actual male main character was boring and I found him to be preachy and the female main character to be flighty. After chapter 25 i almost gave up but instead I just moved ahead 2 chapters, listened for like 10 minutes to see if I could logically catch up (I did) and then when I got bored I moved ahead another chapter. I listened through to the end at that point and meh. It was okay.
