Publisher's summary

Humanity is divided between those who have chosen a simulated existence and those seeking life among the stars in this far-future science-fiction adventure.

The Beta Explorers have succeeded in their mission of terraforming planets to establish human colonies across the galaxy. But as the inhabitants of these new worlds come of age to govern themselves, their ambition plateaus and stagnates. Instead of continuing to pursue scientific advancement and space travel in the physical Betaverse, many prefer the simulated environment of the Metaverse, where they can live innumerable immortal lives, free from illness and harm.

Separated from her fellow Betas, who individually transformed one world at a time, Angelique Komene cloned herself and produced hundreds of habitable planets. Through her clones, the Ange Angels, she has guided billions to create democratic societies. But when her people start embracing the Metaverse, one colony after another, the clones make a startling discovery: a virus code—designed to influence the humans under their care to reject science in reality—was uploaded into the Betas' simulated minds before their terraforming mission even began, presumably the work of the authoritarian government, which outlawed space exploration to keep humanity contained in the Metaverse.

Now, it is up to Angelique and the Betas to implement an antivirus to purge the contagion and reclaim their autonomy from Earth once and for all. But what if the virus did not originate on Earth after all? It seems an alien civilization has been spreading its own colonies across the universe. And if humans do not return to their home planet, the aliens may destroy the entire race . . .

The second volume of the hit science-fiction adventure series—originally released on Royal Road and perfect for fans of Bobiverse and Children of Time—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

As good as the Bobiverse

The first two books in this series are as good as the first two in the bobiverse. I can’t wait for book 3 to come out.

A great sequal

Loved it, especially all the other sci fi references, like the Jon Ryan one! Great book, and also very thought provoking.

Even better than the Bobiverse

There are so many interesting concepts in this book, it's probably the most unique sci-fi series I've ever read, it's even better than the Bobiverse. I like the mix of nail biting action and problem solving. Wish I could say more but I don't want to give any spoilers! Great cliffhanger, I hope the next book is released soon..

Seriously amazing!!! Officially better than the Bobiverse

I read the first book in the series a not to long ago based on some reddit posts I was and it didn't disappoint...but this book is actually a slam dunk for me! The addition of the new characters fill out the explorer group brilliantly and really bring each character into there full personality. The first book is already highly rated but this one is significantly better and that says a lot! I honestly can't review this book high enough, someone please tell me when the final installation comes because that cliffhanger is going to be stuck in my head till then hahaha

A really interesting concept for the Fermi Paradox. A really unique approach for the great filter.

That cliffhanger is unfair. I'm dying. If only I could change my playback speed to fast forward to the next release.

Love it!

I love how you have adapted some terms from some of my favorite books similar to yours! Like brain matrix’s and von neumann probe from we are bob, the dark forest/fermi paradox from the dark forest second book of the three body problem. Love it all!!!!

Chalk full of unique and intriguing concepts!

Absolutely loved the first installment of this series and this continuation took the starting concept and built on and improved the overall story. In the first book things were just getting started so of course there had to be alot of introduction and build up of plot foundation (even so it was an amazing book) but this book is able to delve into deeper concepts and start an overarching storyline that i found very interesting and entertaining. Im not guna give any spoilers but i found the main conflict in this book to be very unique and well executed. Some very interesting ideas in here all the while being light hearted, fun, and entertaining. Im VERY pleased with this author so far and will be eagerly awaiting his next book!
Also Luke Daniels killed it as always. loved the shout out to him by naming one of the colonist kids after him😄
