Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author J.A. Jance brings her trademark breakneck pace to this fun and exciting novella, where fan favorite Ali Reynolds takes on double responsibilities as both sleuth and bride.

Ali Reynolds is finally getting married to her longtime love B. Simpson. They wanted a simple Christmas Eve wedding, but nothing is ever simple with Ali. Even as a motley crew of her friends—Leland Brooks, Sister Anselm, and others—descend on Vegas, the bride-to-be finds herself juggling last-minute wedding plans and a mystery in the form of a stray miniature dachshund. Ali’s grandson rescues the little dog, but Ali’s not in the market for a new pet right before her honeymoon, and leaves no stone unturned in hunting for the dog’s owner. But what she finds is more than just a shaggy dog story…Bella’s elderly owner has vanished, and her son seems to be behind it. So it’s Ali and B. to the rescue—and still making it to the church on time!

Big disappointment from this author

What did you like best about A Last Goodbye? What did you like least?

I thought it would be a mystery from this author. Instead it is a melodramatic story about a woman and a dog

Would you ever listen to anything by J.A. Jance again?

Yes, because I know this author does write good mysteries

What does Alison Fraser bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

nothing much

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

no

Marraige by dog.

This little short story was a nice easy read. I like the way the author gets the two subjects in the book to blend so well. You can't help but cry when they walk away from Bella's owner. A good book.

Great short story!

Moving and heart warming story for any animal lover! This is a good introduction to an Ali Reynolds and B Simpson combination, expertly woven into her family.

Meh

Although I enjoyed hearing Ms. Jance talk about the dogs in her life, I didn't like this story. It made me sad on several levels. Also so short not really worth the $, Audible should give it away. Oh and I didn't like the change in narrators, Ms. Fraser is good, but not what I am used to. all in all meh, don't bother.

Entrancing

This is a short Christmas novella featuring J. A. Jane’s Ali Reynolds. Ali and B are getting married in Las Vegas over Christmas holidays. Ali’s grandson rescues a miniature dachshund that someone tossed out of a car but Ali is not ready for a dog as she will be leaving on her honeymoon. Ali and family leaves no stone unturned in searching for the dog’s owner.

The fast pace story accomplished having a wedding without having to deal with it as a full novel and it is a cute story for dog lovers as well. I understand the little dachshund is one of Jance’s own dogs and she decided to write a story featuring it. Alisen Fraser narrated the book.
