Publisher's summary

Fans of Bridgerton and Georgette Heyer won't want to miss this sparkling Regency romance series from bestselling author Jane Ashford. Prepare to waltz into a delightfully detailed historical world featuring:

• A tenacious lady who wants to forge her own path

• A guarded marquess with a troubled past

• An unresolved mystery that brings them together

• And a love stronger than anything that might want to keep them apart

Charlotte Deeping needs something to keep her occupied now that she's back home after her first London season. She misses solving local intrigues with her school friends, but they've all gone off and gotten married. Then Laurence Lindley, the Marquess of Glendarvon, comes for a visit, and drops a mystery right into her lap.

When Charlotte's brother makes her promise not to interrogate the marquess, she agrees. But that only means she'll have to find more subtle ways to learn about the mysterious marquess and his past. The more time they spend together, the closer Charlotte gets to finding answers, and to Laurence. That is, until Charlotte's digging rouses an old vendetta and Laurence has to delve into his own history to help the young lady he's come to love.

Love Rosalyn Landor!

This story had me in from the very beginning, I love the way it started, and I love the way it ended. Very well narrated as per usual by Rosalyn Landor. As soon as I saw who was narrating this book, that was it, I bought it! She makes every book she narrates enjoyable to listen to and brings the story and characters alive.
This is book 4 of a series that I have not read before. They are standalone stories and you don’t need to read the other ones if you don’t wish to. I probably will though, because this one had such a good story line. I loved the mystery as well. I highly recommend.

A great Regency series

I’ve enjoyed the entire series. This is the newest, or perhaps the last chapter. Highly recommend it.

Narrator, Rosalyn Landor, is a gem!

I've always said that if I can listen to a book and forget it's narrated, it's a good narrator! Rosalyn Landor always had this affect on me. I think that this is the first time I've listened or read any books by Jane Ashford. She's very good! I liked her sense of humor, and the adventure she brings to the story! I listened you this book intently!
