Publisher's summary

A thrilling race across the multiverse to save the infinite Earths—and the love of your life—from total destruction for fans of The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, The Time Traveler's Wife, and Rick and Morty.

Film-maker Hayes Figueiredo is struggling to finish the documentary of his heart when handsome physicist Yusuf Hassan shows up, claiming Hayes is the key to understanding the Envisioner—a mysterious device that can predict the future.

Hayes is taken to a top-secret research facility where he discovers his alternate self from an alternate universe created the Envisioner and sent it to his reality. Hayes studies footage of the other him, he discovers a self he doesn’t recognize, angry and obsessive, and footage of Yusuf…as his husband.

As Hayes finds himself falling for Yusuf, he studies the parallel universe and imagines the perfect life they will live together. But their lives are inextricably linked to the other reality, and when that couple's story ends in tragedy Hayes realizes he must do anything he can to save Yusuf's life. Because there are infinite realities, but only one Yusuf.

With the fate of countless realities and his heart in his hands, Hayes leads Yusuf on the run, tumbling through a kaleidoscope of universes trying to save it all. But even escaping into infinity, Hayes is running out of space—soon he will have to decide how much he’s willing to pay to save the love of his life.

Mind-blowing… mind- bending

A Fractured Infinity gives Inception level twists and turns… Station 11 level of Dystopia… and heart twinging levels of Adjustment Bureau. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out- Tavares knocks you back. Never have I fallen in love with such flawed characters.

Good but hard to follow at times

The story is there and character development was decent, dialogue was very good but you have to pay close attention or it is easy to get lost.

Not what I expected

This book is a great upgrade from the same old multiverse science fiction vs humanity storyline, where the protagonist actually struggles like each of us might.

Anti-matter and Anti-hero

some books should be read and some listened to. I'm glad I chose to listen to this [choose you favorite positive adjective] saga of seemingly failed humans running amuck in the multiverse's hall of mirrors. Perhaps one of the most norming accounts of same-sex love I've ever encountered. the lovers are lovers not two men in love. And then there is fun science verging on nonsense that you will be happy to accept just so you find out what will happen when cause and effect still exist but are malleable. listen to this. you won't have any aha moments, but you will be forced to wonder what you would have done and why.

Could not finish

Never understood the story mechanics. Too much retrospective from main character. I get it, you have regrets. But of what?

A new favorite. Dazzling doesn’t give it justice.

This book was a gamble. It was the deal of the day, which are often just bad. But I was so pleasantly surprised, I devoured the book in three days.

Hayes is delightfully complicated. An addict, whose narcissistic tendencies, bleed through and translate into a deep desire to be a better person.

Yousef is quiet and brainy. And a perfect love interest. Such a nice balance of two masculine characters who happen to fall in love.

The plot twists and turns weave into a fascinating mythology that makes this love story a fantastic example of what makes great science fiction. Exploration of the human condition through science. Just fantastic enough to be interesting, plausible enough to allow suspension of disbelief.

Read this book. You will not be sorry. I will read it again. And will watch for this author’s work for sure.

Ugh. A 14 year-old boy's fantasy life

Could not get past chapter 4. Imagine a James Bond wannabe except, in this case, the main character is better at destroying people without remorse instead of catching the bad guy. Shallow, predictable characters.

It’s a Romance sci fi

An Unlikeable protagonist that in my opinion does not, and never did redeemed himself . Also, the same ness of all the worlds seemed like a 50s trope.

Couldn’t follow it

The main character was so into himself that I couldn’t get past him to figure out what the story was. Seems like all he wanted to do was talk about himself and what a screw-up he was. No thanks.
