Publisher's summary

Chance is gorgeous. Younger. Confident. Seductive enough I almost joined the mile-high club the day we met, but I resisted…then.

When we meet again, though, all bets are off. I find myself surrendering to the gorgeous grad student with his intelligence and thirst for life, the guy who calls me Dare and makes me feel like I can do anything.

Despite the differences in our ages and the extra zeroes at the end of my bank balance, despite our agreement to keep our relationship a secret, I can’t deny our connection…and I can’t help falling for him.

But I want more than just clandestine meetings, I want it all. Chance fought to have me, but now I’ll fight to keep him, to convince him he has a place in my world...and to show him I’d risk everything for a chance at love.

love it!

an Amazing love story by Silvia Violet about two men finding love even though they are from two different social worlds. you have the rich older man and the younger man from a blue collar ranch family. but their connection is more powerful than the separation of classes and age. Darren is asexy cannot afraid to go after the chance at love. together withChance, they are hot.
great story with great characters.

the narrating was done well. Derrick McClain has a great voice and uses it well to give the characters personality and bring their story to life. well done.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Really great audiobook!

Overall: 4.5 Stars ~

Darren and Chance meet during a trip from Houston to San Diego and while they hit it off and Chance gives Darren his number, Darren doesn't call him. Neither of them is able to fully stop thinking of the other, though, so when they meet again a few months later at a charity event, they hook up and after that, they just can't stay apart. However, their age difference and the difference in their social and economic status might prove too difficult to overcome in the long run.

I loved the start of this book! Chance was quirky and fun and I just adored him. While he was still sweet during the rest of the book, he lost a bit of that je ne sais quoi that drew me to him at first. Still, he was definitely my favorite of the two. Darren was serious and mature, and he was likable, even if he'd been burned in the past, he opened himself to Chance and it was lovely seeing them build something, that while fast, appeared like a good foundation for a relationship. Of course, there were some instances in which I just wanted to shake Darren and make him realize what he was doing, like with his brother for example. Truly, while I'd loved them together before that incident, after I felt Chance was just too good for Darren, even if his grand gesture, in the end, made up for it a little.

The chemistry between Chance and Darren was undeniable and the sex scenes were scorching, and I just adored their banter and conversations.

I liked Caitlin and I loved Joon, Chance's roommate, he was made of awesome and was a great friend to Chance.

The narration was great! I love Derrick McClain's voice, it's deep and pleasant and he has a nice range of voices for all the characters, giving each of them a distinctive tone and imprinting the story with a lot of emotion.

Overall, this was a really good May/December audiobook! Hot and sweet, with some angst thrown in for good measure, that ends with a strong HFN and a fantastic narration that just elevates the quality of the story. Recommendable!

An adorable May/December romance

This is a wonderful story between Chance and Darren. Several differences having the chance to work together and Silvia has written a story that draws you in and carries you along on the romance of the couple. There's an age difference, different temperaments, wealth, backgrounds. Two very different men that come together at a random moment in time and because of who they are, it's memorable and sticks with each of them. When the chance comes to reconnect, it's hot and becomes important to them both. When alone together they can shut out the outside world but once they start to step out into it, differences and other people may come between them.
I really enjoyed the story line and love a May/December romance! The attraction was clear between Chance and Darren from the moment they met and reading their POV's of each other made for some amusing times, especially their first impressions. The more we get to know them separately and together, it's easy to see them having a future together as they just.....fit. The setting of their story is lush, especially Darren's home and their walks along the beach. It's easy to visualise with the way that Silvia writes so well. Ethan's friends are great and amazing support for him throughout. Darren is different in living a mostly lonely life with his time spent mostly working or with his dog which makes it even more valuable with the relationship building between the two.
This is the first time I've heard Derrick McClain narrating and I really enjoyed it! His voicing of each character was different enough for me to tell the men apart. It was filled with happiness, wariness, tension, and love. It was easy to be carried along on the romance of the story and I was really engaged from the start as we are first introduced to the men individually and then listened to them grow together.
I really recommend giving this book a listen. An enjoyable age difference romance with a bit of tension towards the end but a well won HEA.

A very nice story

This was a very nice story. I loved how these two worked together but just wish it wasn’t a tragedy that really solidified their connection in the end. Both were willing to go out on a limb for the other in different ways which I always love.

Oh, I absolutely loved Chance. He is so open and willing to try for what he wants but because of that he also hurts more when it doesn’t work. Darren is really a caring guy though he hides it behind a gruff exterior but I loved seeing the soft side of him and when he would let his guard down.

I enjoyed Derrick McClain’s narration of this story. His voices worked so well for these characters, Darren’s gruffness and Chance’s openness was perfectly portrayed.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

A Chance at Love

This book was Cute and I had fun listening to this one. As a San Diego native I really appreciated all the places, scenery and attractions that were mentioned in this book, already knowing where they all were, but it was like I was experiencing those places for the first time right along with the characters.

Darren is an older (40ish) man who meets Chance (early 20’s) on a plane headed to San Diego. Darren is instantly drawn to Chance even though Chance is the absolute opposite of him. Chance is super cute, totally open and straight forward about what he wants. These two had great chemistry together once they let their relationship happen and progress. It definitely took a bit for Darren to feel comfortable in his skin when it came to Chance. There were plenty of contradictions for these two. Darren was in control but wanted to let go, not quite sure how to do that. Chance was younger but wanted to be in charge and didn’t want people looking down on him for where he came from and the things he has, or didn’t have. There was a little bit of an age kink going on here but definitely on the lighter side. I have to say I think these two would have had an easier time in their relationship if they spent some time actually conversing with each other about their feelings and not just guessing what the other guy was thinking and feeling, but that did add more of a storyline conflict.. Overall a cute and enjoyable book.

Audio – I think Derrick McClain did a good job at giving each of these guys their own voice and keeping them straight. It was really easy to follow along with the story. I also really liked his voice for Chance’s friend/roommate Joon, he was a cute supporting character that was added into this book as well.

Sweet Love Story

A Chance at Love is a wonderful May/December love story. This is a sweet story with just the perfect amount of sexiness added. The story flowed from beginning to end and I was totally caught up in it.

Derrick McClain did a terrific job of bringing Chance and Darren to life. His voice added the perfect touch to this story and made for a wonderful audo experience. There's a reason he is one of my favorite narrators!

You will love this story

Chance and Darren have a great first meeting then when they cross paths again, Chance decides to move forward. This story is very well-written with full characters and a great plot. These two men could not appear more different and yet they fit so well together. The narrator does a great job with how he portrays them and tells the story.

One of my favorite authors, but this was not my favorite of her books. It's worth listening to and worth a credit.

Charming

I love the May/December trope, so as soon as I saw this I had to grab it! I thought it was sexy and funny, and the characters had great chemistry together. I loved how they initially met on an airplane, and bonded over cheese balls! I felt like the issues they faced as a couple were real and relatable to the real world. I found their story very sweet with all the feels.

This was a new narrator for me and the narration was very good with clear character recognition.

Loved It!

This is a great story that quickly drew me in and had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I adore Chase and Darren, they are both stubborn, opposite in personality, but boy do they complement each other well. The narrator did a great job of bringing these characters to life. I listened to this in one sitting. I was so engrossed in the story I didn’t realize how late (or rather early) it had gotten. A great book!
