Hierdie ou Bennie Griesel boek het op een of ander manier nooit by my ore of oë uitgekom tot nou toe nie. Maar is ek bly dit het! Dis natuurlik oudergewoonte 'n wonderlike-vertelde storie wat mens die heeltyd bind. Bennie en Vaughan laat jou lag en 'n traan pik en jou laat asem ophou, soos dit hoort. Wat my opgeval het is dat dit voel of hierdie vroeër werk van Deon nie soveel aandag geniet het t.o.v. die navorsing en detail wat hy in sy storie inwerk nie. Maar dit is steeds onmiskenbaar Deon Meyer! Wat 'n plesier!
