Publisher's summary

We all fail. We all fall. We all need to know how to get back up. Few know this better than New York Times best-selling author Neil Pasricha. Before selling over a million copies of his Book of Awesome series and touring the world to teach Fortune 500 CEOs, Ivy league deans, and members of the royal family how to unlock a positive mind-set, Pasricha’s life hit rock bottom. In this Audible Original, you'll hear for the first time Neil's very personal story of failure and resilience - and you'll learn how you, too, can find the strength to get back up.

Go Behind the Scenes with Neil Pasricha

The problem with the self-help industry, Neil explains, is that "we aren't sharing the grey stories—the stories in between the lines of the big, high-milestone moments that are on the cover of every greeting card."

Touching, educational and wildly brave.

The book is touching yet also warmly and surprisingly hilarious. It's raw but also extremely delicate. It's obviously self-reflective for the author, but I love how he also made it so self-reflective for us too. So many of my own emotions, basement walls and acceptance issues to face through the journey of his story.

It's also actionable. In addition to all of the lessons in failure, there are some great tools mixed in that explain how he has managed to be so successful through failure but also in general. I needed this book. If you're searching for something then maybe you need this book too. Most of all, I appreciate the author's bravery in writing this tearful, funny and inspiring memoir.

Simple and Effective Lessons

This Audible book is both entertaining and informative. Neil delivers this book as if he's talking in our living rooms. He talks about his most personal obstacles, his parents' lessons, and makes it all come alive. There are a lot of good tidbits of advice that are worth listening to and writing down. Well worth the investment.

Easy Listening

Neil has such a calming voice! I found the book to be quite relaxing and I’m rather sad it’s all over. We don’t agree on everything in life (weed, religion) but I love his honesty and his life story, I was inspired to have a positive outlook on life.

Couldn't 'put this down'

It wasn't what I expected at all, but in a good way. I've read/listened to a few books recently that were quite clinical and matter of fact and I thought this would be much the same. However, it was just Neil's journey and from the start you feel part of it. It's like watching a movie that you don't want to end, as you get sucked into the story and feel his pain and joys. It's well narrated and I love the authenticity of it. It just feels open and honest, which in itself is inspiring. I love that his Dad was there as well to read a part of it. This just added to how much Neil is laying his whole life down in this book for everyone to see. It's humorous where it should be, sad in others, but overall a reminder that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel and you might have to work hard for that light.... but it's there!!

I really enjoyed this book

I bought this book because Audible had a buy one get one free sale and it seemed interesting. I loved it! I cried at the end. People don't know how much of a privilege it is to have kind and loving parents ( yes that's the kind of world we live in). You sir have been through a lot like most of us and it's inspiring to see you thriving.

The book was ok.

I've only listened to this back once. I feel the second time will have more of an impact.

Raw and Captivating

Listened to this on a 15 hour drive. The real life struggles the author shared are enjoyably relatable.
