Sgt. Rick Reed (Retired) was a Homicide Detective with Evansville, Indiana Police Department. His writing career began with true crime book, BLOOD TRAIL, the story of his investigation and capture of serial killer, Joseph Weldon Brown. His career with the Evansville Police Department started running off the rails when he was promoted to Sergeant and put in charge of Internal Affairs. When he asked why he was being assigned to IA, the Chief of Police stated, "It's the perfect place. Everyone already hates you." Currently he is the author of eight serial killer/thrillers in the Jack Murphy thriller series. Detective Jack Murphy and Detective Liddell Blanchard not only pursue the worst kind of killers through the streets of Evansville Indiana, but they are now part of a Federal Task Force hunting down serial and thrill killers. The books were published in the following order but can be read as stand alones: THE CRUELEST CUT (also audiobook), THE COLDEST FEAR (also audiobook), THE DEEPEST WOUND, THE HIGHEST STAKES, and THE DARKEST NIGHT, THE SLOWEST DEATH, DEADLIEST SINS and THE CLEANEST KILL was released June 11, 2019.
