Navigating abuse can be brutal, but I would not be writing this book if it was impossible. I am a survivor of emotional abuse and gaslighting. I know firsthand how severe the effects of emotional abuse can be. Dennis Chapman is not only an author but also a survivor of the type of abuse he writes about. Dennis has been on many journeys throughout his life and gone down many paths. Dennis is a Husband, a Father, a Veteran, a Nurse, and an Author. Each of these roles is as important as the next in his life. Dennis became an author to help those suffering from these types of abuse. His goal is "prevent others from having to walk the dark path that I did alone for so many years," which promoted Dennis to write his first book on the subject. Dennis's insight along his journey, which came much later in his life, is shared and spoken about with honesty and empathy. Dennis has seen the worst of what man can do, serving in combat zones as a medic. Dennis has seen the effects of abuse firsthand as an ER Nurse. And Dennis knows how dark the path can become from surviving his own struggles. Dennis's goal is for others to move from being the victim to the survivor and find the joy and light in their lives as he did. Dennis Chapman currently lives in Oregon with his wife, 5 children, and 4 dogs.
