Antong is the embodiment of transformation and redemption. At a early age obsessed with education, Antong faced a sobering reality most kids of underserved communities face, Survival is the rule of law. With his father in prison and mother working long hours to make ends meet he had to face the harsh realities of drugs, bullies, gangs and peer pressure alone. Antong had to fend for himself. The Lucky name became synonymous with terror. He joined with his cousins down a path of bullying and crime. Outnumbered by neighboring gangs forced Antong and his cousins to start the first Blood gang in Dallas. That decision put him in the line of fire with the police gang unit. Running away from police became a full time job for him. Suddenly, a questionable arrest landed Antong face to fate with a judge. “ You are a menace to society” and off to prison he went. Once in prison, Antong met a mentor that saw something in him. As he mentored Antong in prison he denounced the gang he once help start and begin to rebuild his life. He didn’t stop there he began helping other men in the prison rebuild their lives as well. Quickly Antong became one of the most sought out mentors in prison. Once released, Antong connected with Omar Jahwar, a local leader and helped negotiate the first ever Peace Treaty in Dallas. From there the two began to work to heal individuals, families and bridge the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Antong Activism ( Redemptive Activism) became his foundation to bring people together from all walks of life. He trains police officers and community members on effective strategies to build harmony. Antong is considered a hero in many communities.
