Publisher's summary
When a fiendish fraudster has been fomenting financial falsehoods, who can find the finagler?
The World’s Greatest Detective Agency, of course!
Staffed by the eccentric man who calls himself Sherman Holmes and aided by his ever-composed assistant Watson, the duo will take on cases other agencies might consider helpless, hopeless, or downright preposterous.
Which is how our fearless fellows find themselves investigating a Renaissance faire’s cooked books, with the finger of guilt pointing directly at their client. To prove his innocence, Sherman and Watson will have to join the revelry, triumph in challenges, deal with an unusually aggressive parrot, and uncover the true origins of the seemingly cheerful faire.

My name is Drew Hayes, and for the past six years I've made my living as a writer. In that time, I've published 20 books, written hundreds of thousands of words, and made countless mistakes - most of which I like to think I've learned from. Underqualified Advice (and Other Amusing Diversions) is my attempt to compile those lessons and share them with others, as well as have some fun along the way. Half of the book is dedicated to detailing specifics about writing, maneuvering the industry, and keeping fiscally afloat in largely unstable waters.

Story
Most people would be overjoyed to win $50,000 and the chance to star in a nation-wide commercial, even if it was just for a fast food joint like Camelot Burger. Then again, Clint Tucker has never been like most people. Ushered to the tropical paradise of Kenowai, he and the other winners undertake an island tradition for the cameras, one meant to free a local imprisoned deity. One with very specific requirements that have yet to be met. One that might just be a bit more authentic than any of them expected.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Story
Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop. Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule.

Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. But when they wake in his bed the next morning, they’re convinced that in their drunken haze they witnessed a murder. Problem is, the body has vanished and no one believes them.

Fun offbeat tale of a mystery at a Renaissance Fair
This is a fun and silly book involving Sherman Holmes (a man whose brain was enhanced and damaged) and his highly skilled bodyguard Holmes. They have a front of a half-hearted detective agency and actually get a gig. Be ready for amusement and a well presented fair, with an intriguing mystery for them to solve. Likable characters. Keeps your interest. Recommended!

A fun Sherlock Holmes spin
The characters in this book vaguely resemble Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Sherman Holmes has an enhanced and damaged brain the government seeks to use. Joel Watson is his government body guard. Their covers are private eyes. Their case involves finding the culprit who is embezzling from a traveling Renaissance Fair. The story is humorous and lighthearted. It is a relaxing break from more serious books. I will look for other books in the series.
