The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

This is a Captivating Listen!
Full disclosure: I had a minor contribution to this project. That said, I had no idea what the final project would look like— or sound like—and this is beyond my wildest dreams. I’m quite familiar with Guantanamo and didn’t think I could be so drawn into an audio book about it — but I couldn’t walk away from this. The story is compelling, the performance is riveting, and I listened to the entire book in one sitting. I cannot recommend this enough.

Such An Intriguing Perspective on Guantanamo
Letters From Guantanamo gives such an intriguing perspective of life in the world's most infamous military prison. Mansoor Adayfi, the former detainee who authored these letters while impriosned for almost a decade and a half at Guantanamo, reveals so much about the prison and how the U.S. miltary's detention and intelligence gathering operations were carried out, Through these letters, the listener also learns about the many people Mansoor Adayfi came in contact with, to include military and non-military personnel, other civilians, other Guantanamo prisoners, and more. The plethora of stories describe quite colorfully the military guards; the interrogators from the U.S. military, other U.S. intelligence agencies and other countries; the Guantanamo commanders and other prison personnel; his attorneys; and many of his fellow inmates. Most importanly though, the listener inimately learns who Mansoor Adayfi is and the impact that GITMO has had not only on his life, but on the U.S. and the world at large. This audible original should also be published into book form and made into a movie!

Storytelling Art
Each letter being read is so captivating. Not only did I learn more about Guantanamo, I laughed at the sarcasm sprinkled throughout and teared up at numerous moments. Whether it's the longing for freedom and love of life or the mourning of what was cruelly and unjustly taken away. In the end, these letters are a testament of an enduring spirit which continues to hope and seek strength from a faith that's as beautiful as Mansoor is. Close your eyes and get lost listening to these letters...
