In the last days of government efforts to stem the spreading plague, Lori’s parents are taken away when found to be infected - leaving her to look out for her two younger siblings, Jay and Virginia. Barely an adult in her own right, Lori must keep them alive, armed only with her wits and the little training her father’s "prepper" hobby instilled in her.

Virginia and Lori have survived the first wave of the Zombie Apocalypse by relying on wit and skills imparted by the harsh realities of their new world and the guidance of their companions. Enduring a world where all they knew and loved has perished has taken quite a toll on the girls but they soldier on regardless; ever determined to continue their journey on old Bob’s map.

Forced to leave the safety of Rivers Crossing, sisters Lori and Virginia, along with their vigilant guard dogs, Zeus and Perseus, find themselves on the road again, following Old Bob’s map. Surviving the dangers of the zombie apocalypse has become second nature to them in this, the third installment of their adventure. Still, the ever changing virus, producing new and varied strains of horrors, continues to endanger them and their traveling companions. Perhaps the greatest danger travels with them, as Lori struggles to come to terms with her nature.
