Eddy Hart is a not so hard-boiled private investigator. Amidst blackmail, murder, and political intrigue that pit Eddy against Nazi spies and the Los Angeles mob, he finds unexpected support from a wealthy industrialist and discovers his secretary is anything but a simple Iowa farm girl. Just like 1940s America, Eddy’s world is about to change.

Eddy Hart is back! The not-so-hard-boiled private investigator becomes involved in the 1940s Hollywood scene. When Eddy's old flame, now Hollywood's hottest star, needs help, Eddy finds himself investigating a blackmail scheme that involves mobsters, movie stars, corrupt politicians and businessmen, and an international assassin. Through it all, Eddy has to sort out his feelings for his old flame, keep himself and his fiancée out of the gossip columns, and make sure he isn't the assassin's next victim.   

Eddy Hart, a not-so-hard-boiled private investigator in 1940s Hollywood, isn’t too happy acting as bodyguard for a big-time comedy duo, who are anything but funny offstage. But, the trouble the comics cause is nothing compared to what happens when Eddy’s future father-in-law arrives in town. Eddy needs to make the right moves to outwit con-artists, corrupt businessmen, and a hitman or two, in order to keep his in-law from becoming an outlaw...or a corpse.

Eddy Hart's latest case takes him into an area of Los Angeles he thought he had left in his past. As he tries to solve the murder of an old friend, he finds himself embroiled in a gang turf war in Chavez Ravine and in the spotlight of a Sheriff's Deputy, who seems to be intent on arresting him for something he didn't do.
