Princess Ozma is missing! When Dorothy awakens one morning to discover that the beloved ruler of the Land of Oz has disappeared, all of the Emerald City's most celebrated citizens join in the search for the lost princess. But Ozma isn't all that's gone missing. The magical treasures of Oz have disappeared, too, including the Magic Picture, the Wizard's black bag, and even Glinda's Great Book of Records.

Published on June 20, 1916, with full-color and black-and-white illustrations by artist John R. Neill, it is significant that no one from Oz appears in the book until its climax; this is due to Baum's having originally written most of the book as an original fantasy novel over ten years earlier, in 1905. Most of the action takes place on three islands - Pingaree, Regos, and Coregos - and within the Nome King's caverns.

The Scarecrow of Oz is the ninth Oz book. In this story, Trot, a young girl from California, and her peg-legged sailor friend, Cap'n Bill, find themselves on a perilous voyage when a whirlpool leaves them stranded in an underwater cave. There they are befriended by a most curious creature - the Ork. With four paddle-like wings, legs like a stork's, a parrot's head, and a tail like a propeller, the Ork proves to be a very welcome and helpful companion.

Ozma of Oz is the third oz book. When a storm blows Dorothy to the land of Ev, where lunches grow on trees, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and Princess Ozma, and together they set out to free the Queen of Ev and her 10 children. The story features a wicked nome king who has enchanted the queen and her children.

The financial stress of rebuilding their family farm leaves Dorothy Gale's family facing mountains of debt. Upon hearing about her aunt and uncle's situation, Dorothy contacts Princess Ozma and arranges for her and her family to live in Oz, where they can be forever safe and at peace.

When Glinda informs Ozma, the ruler of Oz, that there is trouble brewing between two distant lands in Oz, Ozma decides to take Dorothy along with her and try to put an end to the problems. Ozma and Dorothy travel first to the land of the Flatheads, where they encounter the evil dictator Su-Dic and are forced to discover they will not be able to make Su-Dic want peace. They then move on to the land of the Skeezers, whose evil queen Coo-ee-ooh is unwilling to make peace as Su-Dic.

"Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz" is the fourth book (among many!) set in the Land of Oz by author L. Frank Baum, published in 1908. Written shortly after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and around the time Baum moved to California, the book starts with an earthquake in California. Dorothy and others - such as Eureka (her cat), Zeb (her cousin) - are riding a buggy being pulled by a cab-horse named Jim, when suddenly they are swallowed up by cracks in the earth, and fall into an underground cavern, where they begin their adventures, including meeting a race of people made entirely out of vegetables... this will be the least strange part of this wonderful story!

"The Marvelous Land of Oz", published in 1904, is the second of L. Frank Baum's books set in the Land of Oz. As always, a lot of eccentric and fantastic things take place; such as a boy creating a magic sawhorse and making a pumpkin-headed man into a living, kind (but dumb) person...! Woggleburg agrees and hurts Scarecrow's feelings by noting that because of Dorothy's discovery, Scarecrow has no family tree and should get the slightest mention in their Royal Book of Oz.
