The Association Method was the first of three lectures Carl Jung delivered in 1909 at the 20th anniversary celebration of the founding of Clark University. The text was originally published in 1916, in The Collected Papers on Analytical Psychology. Jung’s approach was to understand the psyche through exploring the realm of art, dreams, mythology, spirituality, and philosophy. Jung’s most prominent contributions include the concepts of the archetype, the collective unconscious, and the theory of synchronicity.
