Brown Girl, Brownstones tells the story of a young Barbadian American caught between the ambitious dreams of her forward-looking mother and the rose-tinted nostalgia of her father. While Selina's mother strives diligently to save enough money to buy a brownstone in Brooklyn, her father dreams only of returning to his home in Barbados. Alison is back to share summer with James. The only problem is, James' lawyer says that they are going to fight his effort to adopt her. Alison and her team are looking to expand Brownstone Security. Good timing too, as it sounds like something is brewing. An unexpected phone call sends Alison to DC where she meets up with an old friend. Danger follows this Brownstone, but it isn’t prepared for her counter.

Jack soon learns foul play is at hand when he finally gets to visit dear Uncle Terry. The poor man has had a severe stroke, and, is struggling to talk to his favorite nephew. A dark wizard escapes the raid. Doesn’t he realize a Brownstone won't give up? After he frees the Fremont troll, Alison has to think fast to protect innocents. But wrangling a stone giant wasn’t on her agenda.

Tracking dark wizards is hard, but no one is good enough to evade the bounty hunter for long. Unless a friend goes missing first. Shay asks Brownstone Security for help finding Lily, and Alison can’t refuse. The dark wizards can wait. The team is off to Japan in search of the magical being she thinks of as a sister.
