  • Nik Ledgerwood looks back and talks about his playing career
    Apr 3 2026

We interview Cavalry FC assistant coach Nik Ledgerwood but we don't talk about what's currently happening with the Cavs. This discussion reviews his playing career from growing up in Lethbridge and playing with Lethbridge Croatia men's team when he was a teen, joining the Calgary Storm, his career in Germany and Sweden and his return to Alberta with FC Edmonton. And there's a few questions about his time with the Canadian men's national team as well.

Nik talks about those early years with the Storm which many of us remember fondly. He reviews some of the difficult times he had moving to Germany as a teen and when he started to feel like he fit in with the team. We talk about his first Canada A cap, his only goal for national team, playing in Central America and what the CSA offered the players as a reward for making the "Hex" (the final World Cup qualifying stage for CONCACAF back in the day).

  • Lydia Bedford departs Calgary Wild while Ali Musse rejoins Cavalry FC
    Mar 13 2026

We talk about two massive stories from the Calgary soccer scene this week. Calgary Wild head coach Lydia Bedford resigned from the club to take the head coaching job of England's women's U23 team. We discuss this shocking turn of events and what the Wild executive might do to handle this situation.

Cavalry FC had a more positive story this week in that Ali Musse re-signed with the club. Musse is one of the greatest players in Cavalry history, but his return seemed doubtful at the end of last season as his contract ended. We discuss what led to his return and how that will affect the Cavs in 2026.

Our interview this week is with Jerson Barandica-Hamilton, who is the head coach of the University of Saskatchewan women's soccer team. The U of S team has many Calgarians on the roster and a bunch of them will be joining the Saskatchewan representative team at futsal nationals in Calgary in April.

The Calgary Wild made a big splash this week by signing Calgarian Mya Jones to a contract. Jones is considered one of the best women's soccer players the city has ever produced. We talk about her potential impact both on and off the pitch.

We also have info about Wild and Cavalry call ups for the international window.
