  • MR. TENDERNISM VS. FINAL DESTINATION SMOKEHOUSE (SHOULD INFLUENCE & IMPACT EQUAL EQUITY?)
    Mar 26 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPIST,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

Should influence and impact equal equity?

We had a conversation centered around Mr. Walter Johnson, also known as "Mr. Tendernism," and what stood out about him wasn’t just the content; it was the connection we felt to him through our phone screens, the virality, and the way people showed up to the restaurant because of him.

    But here’s the twist 👇🏾

He didn’t own the restaurant. So now the question becomes…

📌 If an employee becomes a driving force behind your business growth, bringing attention, customers, and revenue, should that translate into ownership?

From the outside, it feels like a quick “yes," But from the inside, it’s not that simple.

📌 If you give equity to one, do you owe it to all?
    📌 Where’s the line?
📌 Who decides when influence becomes ownership?

And on the flip side, as a creative, is that a conversation you should have up front? Or is virality too unpredictable to plan for?

Because here’s the real tension: when someone contributes in a major way, do you let them grow with you or risk losing them altogether?

If people came for him and he’s gone, what happens to the business?

Was it worth holding onto everything to potentially lose what helped you grow?

Or was the company right in protecting what they built?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE influence vs ownership, creative value vs compensation, and whether impact should ever translate into equity.

  • IF I WARN YOU, DO I STILL HAVE TO SAVE YOU?!
    Mar 21 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPIST,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

Let’s start simple: If someone brings you a grilled cheese, what kind of cheese do you think is in there?

Sounds small, but it showed us something big: the same question, different expectations. Everybody hears the same thing, but sees it differently.

Now, take that into real life: we talked about self-worth, and here’s the truth: it’s not that people lack value; they lack vision. You can be everything you’re supposed to be, but if you don’t see it, nobody can convince you.

And then we got to the core: If you tell someone “don’t go down that road”… and they go anyway… what’s your responsibility after that?

    📌 Do you help them?
    📌 Do you step back?
📌 Do you love them without rescuing them?

Because at some point, we have to ask: Is helping still helping, or is it enabling?

And if you already warned them, are you still responsible for what happens next?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE perspective vs expectation, self-worth vs self-vision, and the responsibility we carry… even after we’ve giving out preventative warning.

  • DOES CONSIDERATION NEED TO BE LOUD FOR IT TO BE VALID?
    Mar 7 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPIST,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

Have you ever had a craving for something you haven’t had in a long time, and when you finally got it, it just didn’t hit the way you remembered?

    Maybe it tasted different.
Maybe the excitement built it up in your mind.
Maybe the memory was better than the reality.

We kicked things off with a conversation about nostalgic foods, but it led us into something deeper.

📌 Does consideration need to be done out loud for it to be valid?
📌 When someone considers your feelings, your time, or your position, do they have to announce it for it to count?
📌 Do they have to say, “I thought about you when I made this decision,” for you to believe it happened?

Because sometimes people consider us quietly.

They adjust things behind the scenes. They make small decisions with you in mind. They move differently because they care. But since it’s not spoken out loud, it can easily be interpreted as the opposite.

    So the question becomes:
📌 Do we only recognize consideration when it’s visible?
📌 Does it only count if it’s verbalized?
📌 Or is quiet consideration still consideration?

Because if someone never tells you they thought about you, does that mean they didn’t?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE silent consideration, expectations in relationships, nostalgic cravings that don’t hit the same anymore, and whether acknowledgment is required for thoughtfulness to count.

  • ARE WE CHANGING THE STANDARDS? OR ARE THE STANDARDS CHANGING US?
    Feb 26 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPIST,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

📌 When you say you accept someone, does that include the backlash that might come with their past?

It’s easy to embrace growth in private. It’s different when that past goes public, and people start whispering and forming unwanted opinions.

What do you do when your reputation gets tested? OR What do you do when standing 10 toes down for your person starts to devalue everything you've worked for?

If someone decides to share their testimony with the world, does your acceptance include the scrutiny?

    📌 The judgment?

📌 The friendships that may shift?

And if someone chooses to step away because of your history, do you blame them? OR Do you recognize that consequences sometimes spill beyond one set of shoulders?

    Now let’s pivot.

📌 When did the standard stop being the standard?

There was a time when monogamy was assumed. Now you’ll see debates in comment sections saying the issue isn’t that "he had other women"… it’s that "he didn’t give her the option to choose."

📌 So what’s the standard now?

    📌 Monogamy?

    📌 Polygamy?

📌 Or just the conversation before the decision?

Has the line moved from “this is unacceptable” to “just tell me first?"

Are standards evolving… or are people bending them?

Are we redefining commitment, or just renegotiating comfort?

Because at some point, we have to ask: Are the standards changing us or are we changing the standards?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE accepting someone’s past versus accepting its consequences, shifting relationship standards, loyalty under pressure, and whether today’s “communication” has replaced yesterday’s non-negotiables.

  • BEING BLACK V.S. BLACK CULTURE: BY DNA OR BY ASSOCIATION?
    Feb 19 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPIST,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

📌 What does it really mean to be "Black?"
📌 And does it carry the same weight it did when we were growing up?

In our session, we found ourselves circling a question that sounds simple… but isn’t.

📌 Is being Black cultural, or is it DNA?
📌 Is it heritage written in your cells?
📌 Or is it rhythm, language, experience, and shared struggle?

Because depending on who you ask, the answer shifts.

Some say it’s biological. If it’s in your bloodline, that’s the end of the discussion. Others say it’s cultural. If you live it, speak it, embody it, then that’s your claim.

Then you have those who don’t even want to use “Black” at all.

And then there’s “Afro” this and “Afro” that. Afro-Latino. Afro-Caribbean. Afro-something.

📌 Where did “Afro” enter the chat?
📌 Is that a bridge to Africa? A rebrand? A distinction?
📌 A way of saying, “I’m connected… but not fully claiming?”
📌 Or is it just evolution of language in real time?

    And here’s the deeper layer…

📌 Does being Black hold the same connotation today as it did for our ancestors?
📌 Has it shifted from identity to aesthetic? From survival to selection? From lineage to lifestyle?

📌 When people classify themselves now, are they honoring DNA, culture, proximity, preference… or something else entirely?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE Blackness as DNA vs culture, the evolution of identity labels, cultural claiming vs cultural living, and whether being Black today means what it meant yesterday.

  • THE TRUTH BEHIND SERVICE ANIMALS & GUILTY CONFESSIONS AFTER THE VERDICT
    Feb 13 2026

    Hey UN•THERAPISTs,

We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…

Do you think all "opinions" can be altered? Lady J & Chef Shay let it be known that when it comes to people traveling with animals and pretending they need them due to medical needs, it is a form of modern-day corruption.

📌 Now, on the other hand, what happens when someone admits they had their mind made up before even listening to what the potential truth can be?
📌 Is there a statute of limitations on transparency?
📌 Are all truths meant for public consumption?
📌 Or are some things better left unsaid?

Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE if "service animals" are really of service or a public nuisance, the impact of public confessions, and whether some truths belong in the open… or in the grave.
