"Have you ever heard of grace?" That's the question a friend of mine received from a frustrated parent. She was working in Christian higher ed, overseeing a community service program - the completion of which was a requirement for students to walk at graduation and receive their diplomas. This particular student had not completed the requirement and had lied about it, and been caught. So, no pomp and circumstance for him - or his disappointed parents. But it begs the question... what is grace? Would grace give him a pass or hold him accountable? We're in week 2 of our first sermon series of 2026: This Is Us. Over the next several weeks, we're going to unpack the values that we believe in and endeavor to live out as a church. This week we're taking a look at grace. Do you know what it is? And what it isn't? In order to live out any value, you have to understand it.
