Have you heard the latest buzz term called "Tall Poppy Syndrome"? This is when people are ridiculed, undermined, or “cut down” because they have achieved greater success than their peers. Poppies are supposed to all grow together, uniformly and the “tall poppy” gets cut down to remain at the same level of growth as the others. I’m sure you already know how we feel about this concept!

Can we really call this phenomenon a syndrome? NO! This is a concept and an action based on feelings aaaaaaand….feelings are not facts.

Tall Poppy is about envy, jealousy, and coveting. The next time you’re feeling any of these – take a step back because this is telling you a lot about how you view yourself and where you think you’re falling short of your own ambitions. Then think about what the person you are envying had to do to get there and ask yourself the tough question – am I willing to do what it takes to get to that same level?

However, we choose to define success - there’s enough out there for everyone and we suggest that each poppy can and should grow at their own pace.

And remember…that tall poppy gets the most sun!
