In June 2005, in the quiet town of Benejúzar, Spain, 51-year-old María del Carmen García walked into a bar, canister of gasoline in hand, and doused a 63-year-old man standing at the counter. Then, she struck a match. Eleven days later, the man was dead from his injuries — and María was hailed as a hero by thousands. Because years earlier, that same man had raped Maria's 13-year-old daughter at knifepoint, and now she was delivering her own brand of justice. To some, María was considered a dangerous criminal guilty of first degree murder who crossed an unforgivable line by taking a human life. To others, she was a mother pushed past her breaking point, and an admirable vigilante stepping in where the system had failed. To this day, this shocking case remains one of Spain’s most fiercely debated examples of vigilantism and continues to force uncomfortable questions about the morality of vigilantism and when, or if, taking the law into your own hands is ever justified. A friend recommended this podcast to me a few weeks ago...finally decided to listen on my 1hr commute home at 2am in the morning. Rocked my socks! Perfect mix of "Haha" and "Oh, shit!" Love that they cover the grit of the cases. Brooke and Tanks chemistry and history between one another is awesome and genuine! Racing to get through more episodes.

Absolutely binge worthy. I love this podcast. I'm an avid true crime fanatic. Normally, I would have to take breaks from the constant "doom & gloom". However, Tank brings his well informed levity while Investigator Slayer drops her wicked case bombs with her intellectually vicious rhetoric. The combination is refreshing. entertaining and hilarious. It means I NEVER have to stop listening. EVER. Keep it up. You guys ring my bell every time!

I love this podcast. I love how Investigator Slater kind of teaches when she goes over the case., while Tank asks the same questions that go through my mind while listening. it's interesting, funny, kind of educational, very well rounded.

little side not for Tank. I recently had a friend say to me she thinks I could drink (sober 2 years now and I am the best version of my self!) I went along with what she was saying. then later she tried passing me her drink. I had to ask "is this alcohol? " i almost just grabbed and sipped outta reflects. but it hit me she didn't understand... and I replayed your conversation with investigator Slater. where she didn't understand. But new you and your struggle. this moment comforted me and kept me on a path that some drinkers just can't fathom. it won't stop there and there isn't enough booze once activated.
