  • EP129: Cannibal Serial Griller: Joe Metheny
    Jun 11 2025
Want to guest co-host with Investigator Slater on a Patreon episode? 🎙️ Join to sign up! www.Patreon.com/PsychopediaPod (you will also get access to bonus episodes, a private group chat, merch discounts, exclusive live streams, and more!) Joe Metheny wasn’t just a serial killer—he was a grotesque spectacle of depravity wrapped in a 450lb form. A truck driver with a taste for control, brutality, and apparently human flesh, Joe prowled the underbelly of Baltimore in the 1990s and lured vulnerable women—often sex workers struggling with addiction—into his dilapidated trailer under the guise of drugs and/or shelter. Then, he would r*pe, torture, murder, and dismember their bodies with a disturbing lack of remorse. And then came the horror that made headlines: Joe claimed to grind up his victims’ flesh, mix it with pork and beef, and then serve it as barbecue burgers from a roadside food stand. “No one ever complained,” he later bragged. Whether that cannibalistic claim was real or just the twisted boast of a man desperate to be feared, the truth was grim enough: six known victims, and a personality that seemed to feed off pain and suffering. Joe Metheny wasn’t just a killer; he was a sadist who wore his monstrosity like a badge, daring the world to flinch. • EP128: R*pe Fantasy Control Killer
    Jun 4 2025
In July 2022, a 27-year-old single mom from England named Shaye Groves, was convicted of murdering her boyfriend, 25-year-old Frankie Fitzgerald. Shaye had an obsessive fascination with serial killers, true crime documentaries, and r*pe fantasy, and her walls were adorned with framed pictures of notorious serial killers whom she "admired." Horrifyingly, after discovering some messages on Frankie's phone, Shaye went on to brutally stab him 17 times. In the aftermath of the murder, Shaye then attempted to fabricate a narrative that portrayed herself as a victim of sexual violence. She even went so far as to manipulate/edit intimate video footage from her bedroom to make previously agreed-upon "consensual non-consensual" (CNC) sex acts appear like assault. This is not a clear cut case involving a crime of passion. It’s about a disturbing fixation that metastasized, and a woman who walked the line between fandom and bloodlust…and then crossed it with a blade. • EP127: Brittany Murphy's Mysterious Death: Accidental? As if!
    May 28 2025
Brittany Murphy’s shocking death at just 32 was not only a tragic loss but also the spark of countless conspiracy theories, from claims of foul play at the hands of her husband to whispers of a government cover-up linked to a national security whistleblower. Some have even drawn chilling connections between her untimely demise and powerful figures like Sean "Diddy" Combs. Once a beloved, radiant star known for her roles in films like Clueless and 8 Mile, Brittany's death in December 2009 was initially ruled as natural causes, attributed to pneumonia and anemia. But the circumstances surrounding her death — her sudden decline in health, the strange events leading up to her death, and the eerie similarities to that of her husband Simon Monjack, who passed just five months later — has fueled a firestorm of conspiracy theories. Was it indeed "natural," or was there something more sinister at play? Absolutely binge worthy. I love this podcast. I'm an avid true crime fanatic. Normally, I would have to take breaks from the constant "doom & gloom". However, Tank brings his well informed levity while Investigator Slayer drops her wicked case bombs with her intellectually vicious rhetoric. The combination is refreshing. entertaining and hilarious. It means I NEVER have to stop listening. EVER. Keep it up. You guys ring my bell every time!

A friend recommended this podcast to me a few weeks ago...finally decided to listen on my 1hr commute home at 2am in the morning. Rocked my socks! Perfect mix of "Haha" and "Oh, shit!" Love that they cover the grit of the cases. Brooke and Tanks chemistry and history between one another is awesome and genuine! Racing to get through more episodes.

Slater voice delivers. Tank I relate to you on so many levels.
thank you.

little side not for Tank. I recently had a friend say to me she thinks I could drink (sober 2 years now and I am the best version of my self!) I went along with what she was saying. then later she tried passing me her drink. I had to ask "is this alcohol? " i almost just grabbed and sipped outta reflects. but it hit me she didn't understand... and I replayed your conversation with investigator Slater. where she didn't understand. But new you and your struggle. this moment comforted me and kept me on a path that some drinkers just can't fathom. it won't stop there and there isn't enough booze once activated.

so thank you.
You are a key element to. this podcast. Tank love you
