  • Emma Stokking on grief, resilience and creativity for a better future.
    Feb 25 2021
My guest today is Emma Stocking she was born and raised in France, between Paris and a beautiful forest. She first studied literature and then got her Masters in Management from ESSEC Business School, where she completed the social entrepreneurship major. Emma then worked for about 10 years in the development of social and environmental projects, between the US, Asia and Europe. In recent years, she"s been focusing on storytelling for a better future, working closely with change-makers and artists, and writing her own novel! She recently joined The Shift Project, a think tank advocating the transition to a post-carbon economy. Emma is a beautiful human being and I had the immense please to discuss with her many topics. We spoke about grief, circular economy, changing the narratives, imagination and of course how to make our planet better for future generations.

  • Fiona Henham on blurred lines, finding and forging identity.
    Feb 19 2021
My guest today is Fiona Henham, she was born in London to an Indian mother from Tanzania and an English father but grew up in the UK, Hong Kong, and Perth, Australia. She spent her twenties doing odd jobs in Norway, London, Marseille, Melbourne, Prague, Paris and even briefly in Lagos, Nigeria. She is Constantly chopping & changing cities, career interests; networks, boyfriends; people who know her describe her as at worst volatile or at best as a free-spirit. Sense of self, belonging and self-esteem is a slippery fish for her; even at the ripe age of 35. Fiona thinks that who we are and who we see ourselves as is inextricably linked to others: origin, place, job title, shared experience, friends, family, status, etc. She is gregarious, curious and open but also and mortified by her own existence. She doesn't know where she fits in and it's not always a comfortable place to be. She feels like an imposter everywhere she goes and she ends up seeking validation from others. but along the journey, she learned many lessons and today she is sharing them with us. Fiona didn't come alone today, she brought her 7 months old son, George, that you will be hearing during the conversation so apologies for the little cute sounds that Georges made.
