Lord of Adders Black: A Blackadder Podcast

    Bonus Episode 08: “@pitchblacksteed on Series 1”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

This bonus episode contains the full interview with our friend Mark Lane, aka @pitchblacksteed – the brains and heart behind the ever-popular King Of Blackadder community on Twitter. As well as the sections already included in Episode 33, where Mark talks about why he views the original series as Blackadder in its most iconic form, he explains why the series is the cornerstone of his Twitter community.

And, with an epic finish worthy of The Black Adder itself, he cherry-picks some of the 800 or so comments posted by its members, ranging from enthusiast to downright horrid ...

Lord of Adders Black: A Blackadder Podcast

Episode 34: “Poetry first, sausage later”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

Our special guest in this episode is our good friend Steve Ursell, who makes a strong case for Blackadder Goes Forth being the most truly iconic of the four series. We talk about the memorable characters and storylines, examine the impact that the series has had on British society and cherry-pick our favourite moments from the six episodes.

Having already featured in a Major Star and Scene Stealer segment as Queenie and Nurse Mary respectively, Miranda Richardson returns for a third time as the wetter-than-a-haddock’s-costume Amy Hardwood, a mysterious Northern beauty with a dark secret and an even darker hatred of squirrels.

Episode 33: “The Amazing Beardless Woman”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent

This week’s Major Star is Mrs Miggins, the warm-hearted coffee shop owner with a weird predilection for that patented Blackadder blend of sharp sarcasm and even sharper cheekbones. A welcome female addition to the sausage fest that is Blackadder The Third, she claims to have a “brain the size of a sultana” but then reveals herself to be a canny businesswoman with a floury finger on the pulse of the times.

Continuing our series of interviews with special guests making the case about why their own favourite series of Blackadder is the most truly iconic, we are delighted to welcome back our friend Mark Lane, the brains and heart behind the ever-popular King Of Blackadder Twitter community. A dyed-in-the-wool Series One devotee, Mark talks about why, in his view, nothing comes close to the dark, plague-infested glory of The Black Adder
