    Episode 37: “Goodbyeee” (Part 2)

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where – for the very last time – Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

For our final episode, we have invited back twelve old friends of the podcast and asked them each a carefully curated Blackadder-related question – prompting much discussion, philosophising and rosy-cheeked caperings. With guests and hosts alike also sharing their favourite Blackadder moments, the long winter evenings will just fly by …

We hope that you enjoyed listening to Lord Of Adders Black as much as we enjoyed making it! And we very much hope that you will also join us for our new podcast – Eat The Pudding: A Simpsons Podcast – which will be out in January.

Lord of Adders Black: A Blackadder Podcast

    Bonus Episode 09: “Uncut Jem”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

This bonus episode contains the full interview with Jem Roberts, friend of the show and author of The True History Of The Black Adder, two parts of which were released back in the mists of September and October 2024.

Here, Jem recounts some of the many rosy-cheeked caperings that occurred while researching his labour of love, such as Richard Curtis bestowing the unpublished Blackadder In Bethlehem script upon him, Stephen Fry bestowing unused sketches upon him – and, thankfully, Rowan Atkinson’s lawyers failing to bestow anything unpleasant upon him.

Lord of Adders Black: A Blackadder Podcast

Episode 35: “Scene Stealers and Time Travelers”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

In this, our second-last regular episode, we are joined by an old friend of the podcast, GoonPod’s Tyler Adams, to talk about Blackadder: Back & Forth, which was described by its main star as the most expensive and least satisfying half-hour in the canon. Our deep dive into this expensive folly travels back to the turn of the millennium and, true to form, gets lost a couple of times on the way.

We also talk about our next podcast project, which we hope will appeal to most of our current listeners, and reveal the long-awaited results of our Scene recent Stealers poll, which yielded a few surprises among the evergreen fan favourites.

    Bonus Episode 08: “@pitchblacksteed on Series 1”

This bonus episode contains the full interview with our friend Mark Lane, aka @pitchblacksteed – the brains and heart behind the ever-popular King Of Blackadder community on Twitter. As well as the sections already included in Episode 33, where Mark talks about why he views the original series as Blackadder in its most iconic form, he explains why the series is the cornerstone of his Twitter community.

And, with an epic finish worthy of The Black Adder itself, he cherry-picks some of the 800 or so comments posted by its members, ranging from enthusiast to downright horrid ...

Lord of Adders Black: A Blackadder Podcast

Episode 34: “Poetry first, sausage later”

Welcome to the Lord of Adders Black fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the universe of cult sitcom Blackadder while diving off at the occasional gleeful tangent.

Our special guest in this episode is our good friend Steve Ursell, who makes a strong case for Blackadder Goes Forth being the most truly iconic of the four series. We talk about the memorable characters and storylines, examine the impact that the series has had on British society and cherry-pick our favourite moments from the six episodes.

Having already featured in a Major Star and Scene Stealer segment as Queenie and Nurse Mary respectively, Miranda Richardson returns for a third time as the wetter-than-a-haddock’s-costume Amy Hardwood, a mysterious Northern beauty with a dark secret and an even darker hatred of squirrels.
