I believe I have been able to achieve successes and turn my passions into profits by leading with purpose and Helping One Person Everyday (H.O.P.E.).So much so that it’s a foundation of everything we’ve ever created at JDS Studio.While there’s no such thing as overnight success, alongside my partner in life and business, Scott Strand, and I have created, developed and have proudly staked our claim as producers, educators, partners and visionaries in the entrepreneurial visual, performing, digital arts and entertainment space for the last 30+ years.My credits include being an award-winning Executive Producer at JDS Studios, and the TV show Spirit of Innovation, Riverside County’s first of its kind magazine style news and information broadcasted and live stream television program. In January 2023 I was elected President of the Southwest Economic Development Coalition, I am an appointed Board Member for Riverside County’s Workforce Development, and the Southwest Committee Chair. All this coincides with my day to day responsibilities of being the executive director and founder of JDS Creative Academy.I adore the entertainment, video and theater Industry, moving from the set and stage to behind the scenes – creating, coaching, mentoring and providing opportunities and pathways in this industry as the majority owner of JDS Video & Media Productions, Inc / JDS Actors Studio and the founder of nonprofit JDS Creative Academy, is my DREAM come true.Today I make Dreams come true with the philosophy of H.O.P.E I have launched over 100 video production and acting careers into mainstream entertainment and multimedia video production industries.     Trevor Thompson is a Canadian sports broadcaster known for his 25-year tenure as a reporter, anchor, and host with FanDuel Sports Network Detroit (formerly Fox Sports Detroit and Bally Sports Detroit where he primarily covered the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.Originally from Dresden, Ontario, he began his career in Vancouver as an in-house announcer and sideline reporter for the NBA's Grizzlies and NHL's Canucks, later working as a reporter for CTV Sportsnet in Toronto covering the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Blue Jays, and CFL's Argonauts. He joined the Detroit regional sports network in 2000 and became a fixture in local sports coverage through multiple ownership and branding changes.Thompson's on-air work included the popular segment "Trev Takes On," in which he tested his hockey skills against Red Wings players such as Pavel Datsyuk and Dylan Larkin. He has won eight Michigan Regional Emmy Awards for his reporting and hosting, and in 2020 he received the Ty Tyson Award from the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association. In May 2025, his full-time position with the network was eliminated following the Red Wings' regular season, but he returned later that year as a rink-side reporter for the team's broadcasts. He also co-hosts the Bleav in Lions podcast with former Detroit Lions player Glover Quin. Trevor Thompson grew up in Dresden, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario, where he played basketball, and attended what is now Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Toronto. He was honored by the Dresden Sports Hall of Fame in 2025 for his contributions to sports broadcasting.Thompson began his broadcasting career in Vancouver, serving as an in-house announcer and sideline reporter for the NBA's Vancouver Grizzlies and NHL's Vancouver Canucks. He later worked for over two years as a reporter at CTV Sportsnet in Toronto, covering the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, and Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
