*After 144 magical episodes, we decided to change our name to better show that we stand with the trans community. We are unable to change our name within those episodes, but will be using For Fawkes’ Sake starting at episode 145 and going forward! New name, same magical Harry Potter compare and contrast!*

Join Ellen and Keighty as we discuss Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, covering the first half of Chapter Thirty-Seven (The Beginning) and the corresponding film scenes.

While we love Harry Potter, we do not condone or agree with its creator’s ignorant opinions. We stand with the trans community.

We post weekly podcast episodes comparing and contrasting the Harry Potter books to the movies, Potter Ponderings, a weekly trivia question (that can win you a sticker!), Sorting Hat Stories, and other Harry Potter related fun! Please subscribe and join us as we delve into our favorite book series and the films that brought them to life.

It makes no sense that the last task would have taken place on June 24th and then the students would have stayed for another month because normally they go home around the end of June. It also makes no sense that the students would have all finished their exams by the 24th and then continued to take classes for another month. It's crazy to me that the author and editors all missed this mess-up. MAYBE it was to give extra time for the Hogwarts students to bond with the students from the other schools. If so, that should have been mentioned/addressed in some way. Because without addressing it, it comes off as an inconsistency. Besides that, I enjoyed Dumbledore's speech at the end of year feast and the time that Harry got to spend with Ron, Hermione and Hagrid. The interaction between Harry and Dumbledore in his dormitory presumably days after Cedric's death is a sorry replacement for the at-length discussion they had in his office immediately following the incident in the book. I especially enjoyed the train ride home (always one of my favorite parts in all the books), because this is where Hermione reveals Rita Skeeter's bug secret. See what I did there? And the jinxes that went flying at Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle at the end! Priceless. So mad we missed out on that in the movie.

Didn't make sense... in the BOOK!
