I loved this. Bonnie made this an experience. You travel with her as she learns the life and history of Tokitae, one of the last killer whales in captivity.
With interviews, facts, and a sense of being surrounded by the culture of the Lummi people, I was moved deeply.

If you do not know of Tokitae before this book, I beg you to not wiki her until after you are done reading this. It will break your heart.

Totally mesmerizing after reading this book I feel we are all connected somehow. Who would know or think that the orca had a brain larger in proportion to body weight than a human? I believe we have a kinship with the mammals of the sea in. You must resist black. Once I started I never put it down

It touched my soul

So much I didn’t know about whales, the original peoples from the Salish Sea, the laws which hold back new information & a bigger picture of all of life.

Not the same deluge of information and facts I unfairly presumed it would be. This series was fresh with original and vulnerable insights and storytelling. Much needed. Must listen! Thank you for sharing your rare talent and gift of storytelling with me, and the world, and for Tokitae.

Original, vulnerable, enthralling!
