Dive into the changing tides of the craft beer world! Rob and Andrew discuss major shifts, including a legendary brewing institute moving from Chicago to Montreal , and the closure of a foundational craft brewery like Rogue. They consider the challenges of losing educational resources like Siebel , and the consequences of factors like limited international tourism on the U.S. market.

Locally, get the scoop on a motivated "fire sale" for professional brewing equipment from Ranch Hand Brewing and new offerings from Arizona breweries. The hosts also taste and compare two prickly pear sours from Roses by the Stairs and Arizona Wilderness , and a Superstition West Coast-style IPA. Plus, a focused discussion on the looming federal time clock that could impact the legality of hemp THC beverages.

Rob begins relating his trip to Asheville, but the rest of the story will have to wait for Part 2 S4E172.

    Nov 7 2025

This week, dive deep into the emotional and financial realities of life after the Guild. With one host no longer officially employed by the AZCBG, the conversation explores the awkward shift in tone, new roles, and the challenges of maintaining a platform dedicated to Arizona's breweries.

After learning he would not be continuing his employment with the Guild due to a lack of funds, Rob Fullmer took a trip to Germany to attend the last weekend of Oktoberfest. Immediately following his return, he traveled to Denver to attend the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). The transition was difficult; he confessed that he is struggling with not having the job and still thinks about it frequently. He noticed a personal change, beginning to buy more hoodies as he no longer felt the need to be in the spotlight. Rob also visited the Navajo Nation for three or four days, noting a lack of beer available in that area.

Despite the change in his professional status, he continued to participate in the podcast, motivated by his belief in the Guild's mission of supporting and celebrating Arizona breweries. He mentioned future plans, specifically to go to the Celly Drippings event in North Carolina from November 21st through the 24th.

How will the show move forward? Structurally, Rob proposed a shift in roles: he will focus on "just doing the producing" and wishes for Andrew to take on a "bigger role" in the hosting and content, particularly by "doing a lot of interviewing". They agreed the show should feature more guests moving forward. Rob suggested the long-term vision was always for the podcast to grow into an "Arizona beer frontier being sort of a network" with more shows.
