  • S4E170: I Want You To Put The Word Out There That We Back Up
    Nov 7 2025

This week, dive deep into the emotional and financial realities of life after the Guild. With one host no longer officially employed by the AZCBG, the conversation explores the awkward shift in tone, new roles, and the challenges of maintaining a platform dedicated to Arizona's breweries.

After learning he would not be continuing his employment with the Guild due to a lack of funds, Rob Fullmer took a trip to Germany to attend the last weekend of Oktoberfest. Immediately following his return, he traveled to Denver to attend the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). The transition was difficult; he confessed that he is struggling with not having the job and still thinks about it frequently. He noticed a personal change, beginning to buy more hoodies as he no longer felt the need to be in the spotlight. Rob also visited the Navajo Nation for three or four days, noting a lack of beer available in that area.

Despite the change in his professional status, he continued to participate in the podcast, motivated by his belief in the Guild's mission of supporting and celebrating Arizona breweries. He mentioned future plans, specifically to go to the Celly Drippings event in North Carolina from November 21st through the 24th.

How will the show move forward? Structurally, Rob proposed a shift in roles: he will focus on "just doing the producing" and wishes for Andrew to take on a "bigger role" in the hosting and content, particularly by "doing a lot of interviewing". They agreed the show should feature more guests moving forward. Rob suggested the long-term vision was always for the podcast to grow into an "Arizona beer frontier being sort of a network" with more shows.

  • S4E168: Beer Hiking Author Kevin Holsapple
    Sep 25 2025
On this episode, Andrew and Rob chat with Kevin Holsapple, the author of Beer Hiking Southern Rockies. Kevin, a resident of Northern New Mexico, explains the unique concept of his book which pairs hiking trails in Arizona and other states with nearby breweries. The discussion delves into urban hikes in Phoenix, the challenges of a difficult Grand Canyon hike, and how to stay hydrated on the trail. Andrew and Kevin also explore the importance of face-to-face interactions in the craft beer community and debate the true meaning of a "hike." Beer Hiking Southern Rockies is a book by Kevin Holsapple and Yitka Winn that features 54 hikes and microbreweries in the four-corner states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. Each hike is paired with a local craft beer from a nearby brewery or brewpub. The book also includes notes on the beer's appearance, aroma, and taste, as well as an inside look at the brewing process. Kevin Holsapple is a retired tourism professional with decades of experience in New Mexico, living near Santa Fe. He is also a travel and beer hiking blogger at primepassages.com. His blog, Prime Passages, is a collection of articles and stories aimed at inspiring lovers of beer, hiking, and travel. The site includes a curated list of books for beer hikers on Bookshop.org, including Beer Hiking Southern Rockies. He also has a "Beer Hiker's Journal" available. The website has an Arizona archives section with stories about "A Hike and a Brew in Sedona," "A Hike and a Brew in Cottonwood," a "Flagstaff Beer Walk," and "Tucson Trolley".
