Episodes
  • Episode 1: Caroline
    Feb 3 2022
At first, Paul from work was sweet, goofy, funny, and charismatic which distracted Caroline from who Paul was on paper: a directionless college-dropout smoker with a bad job and a young child from a previous relationship. But things moved fast, Paul moved in, and the red flags started popping up. It wasn’t until nearly two years of dating that Caroline hit her breaking point on February 14th, a dangerous Valentine’s Day she will never forget.

  • Episode 2: Dylan
    Feb 3 2022
Dylan didn’t realize she had become a victim of “dogfishing,” which is when someone on a dating app posts pictures of themselves with a puppy to lure more matches. She was genuinely excited to meet Zach, a feeling that doubled when he offered to bring along his dachshund as a wingman. But when Dylan arrived at the restaurant, Zach was all alone. When Dylan discovered it wasn’t even Zach’s dog, she just wanted to go. What she didn’t realize was that her life might be in danger and she would have to escape.

  • Episode 3: Emily
    Feb 3 2022
When Emily met Corey, her first thought was that he was too good to be true. Corey was well known in town as being a great but strange guy, which quirky art girl Emily was totally on board with. So, she brushed off his jokes about locking her in a basement if she ever tried to leave him, thinking that was just his weird sense of humor. Things moved fast and Corey asked Emily to move in. She took him up on his offer, thinking this situation would be like a never-ending vacation. But after a couple of months of honeymoon bliss, Emily got pregnant, and things started to change.

Excellent podcast at the intersection of love and true crime

I’m a huge fan of this podcast! It’s the perfect intersection of two of my favorite topics: relationships and true crime. The real life stories of people who dated monsters are compelling, scary and sometimes all too relatable. The host, Gabi, is compassionate, witty and really fun to listen to. I think she’s a talented interviewer as well. 10/10 would recommend!

Great podcast

I truly love this podcast it gives me tips special cause I’m in the dating apps and I thought maybe holding back my number might be a bad thing until I meet somebody but it assured me it’s not and the helpful hints from the FBI agent is wonderful. The stories help me understand and know how to be safe and then I’m not crazy when I get worried.

Love this

Not only are the stories interesting, but they are also very relatable on many levels. I appreciate the advice from people like female FBI, psychologist, etc. Hope for another season.

Learned a lot

I gave it 1 star short because I think they can maybe not advertise themselves at the end of each episode. it gets really old and annoying. We are already listening, so why would you advertise yourself so much? Makes no sense to me! I almost quit listening because of it.

safety first

Appreciate the narrative and that you give permission to leave with no explanation. This is so important.

Every young adult should listen to this podcast

I’ve told my daughters who are all in their early 20’s to listen to this podcast. I think there are some very important signs and red flags to know about and having a name for some of these behaviors is validation that it’s a real problem. I’m not crazy after all these years of hearing that I am overreacting. I’m being gaslighted or coercive control has been used, possibly. I want my children to be smarter and more emotionally mature than I was at that age or maybe even now.

SUCH GOOD INFORMATION!!

LOVE IT!! Very informative, and it's helping me stay strong after saying enough is enough dating a narcissist. I hear so many points that sound the same or similar enough to be MORE red flags regarding my situation. And I'm only on episode 4 right now. It's a must listen for every girl beginning to date or who wants to feel "armed" with the tools to date safely at any point in your single life. Good luck!!

Flashbacks

Although I kept having flashbacks of a guy I used to know, I enjoyed the overall positive tone of this podcast and the advice from experts. Fortunately, I put an end to my horror story before it got too horrible, and it was thanks to content like this that I could identify what was going on. It also helped me make a little more sense of what may have been going on in his head, because it was evident he was trying to manipulate me but I just couldn't understand why. Thank you for that ♡
