This week on how did it come to this? From last weeks long history to a short history of a long war. Afghanistan is in strong Taliban control. It is the place from which Bin Laden launches his attacks on the west. Accused of aiding and abetting known terrorist forces, the taliban invite invasion once again as the US and its allies head into a war with no end goal. How did we get into this war? Why did it last so long? Did we achieve any of our goals? Is Afghanistan worse off now than when we started? Why am I still waiting for Rambo to come and fix things? And ultimately, how did it come to this?
