[המשך] מקור לדבר ע"ד התועלת להתחיל "להרעיש" אודות עניני פורים ל' יום לפני פורים – הוא משנה: "באחד באדר משמיעין (שפירושו "מכריזין") על השקלים", "כדי שיביאו ישראל את שקליהן בעונתן . . באחד בניסן". ומה שאדה"ז בשו"ע אינו מזכיר – על יסוד משנה זו – גם אודות ל' יום לפני הפורים הוא – כי החיוב ד"ל' יום לפני הרגל" אינו אלא בענינים מיוחדים (כמו בנוגע לחיוב להביא ג' קרבנות ברגלים, ו"תקנה זו לא נתבטלה אף לאחר חורבן ביהמ"ק"), אבל אא"פ לקבוע חיוב כזה בנוגע לכל ענין של יהדות! אבל כדי לתקן ולהשלים את מה שחסרו בהפעולות דימי הפורים בשנה שעברה – בודאי אין "עוולה" להשתמש ב"עצה" המיוסדת על משנה זו – להתחיל "להרעיש" אודות עניני פורים ל' יום לפנ"ז! לא אדה"ז, לא נשיא דורנו ולא יצרו הטוב יבואו אליו ב"טענות", רק ה"א-ל זר אשר בקרבך"... ועוד ענין: מדובר ע"ד לעורר יהודי להוסיף בענין של שמחה – הרי אפילו אם יתברר שאין זה בגדר מצוה ומנהג וכו' מהי ה"עוולה" שבדבר?!

(Continued). Regarding the benefit of beginning to make a tumult about Purim thirty days before Purim, there is a source for it a Mishnah: “On the first of Adar, an announcement is made regarding the shekalim” so that the people will bring their shekalim by the first of Nissan. The reason the Alter Rebbe doesn’t mention anything about thirty days before Purim in his Shulchan Aruch is because the obligation of preparing thirty days before applies only to certain things (such as the obligation upon every individual to bring three korbanos on the Festivals); it would be is impossible to make it an obligation to prepare for every aspect of Yiddishkeit thirty days beforehand! However, when we see that last year we were lacking in terms of the activities related to Purim, there is certainly nothing wrong with applying this advice from the Mishna and beginning to campaign about Purim thirty days in advance. Neither the Alter Rebbe, nor the Nasi of our generation, nor one’s yetzer tov, will come with any complaints; the complaints will come only from the “foreign god who is within you”… Additionally: we are talking about inspiring another Jew to increase in something joyous. So even if it turns out that it is not exactly a mitzvah or custom etc., what is the wrongdoing in that?!
