Would you listen to A Lowcountry Christmas again? Why?

Yes, Monroe did a fine job with the narration of her novel. I can see myself reading this book (or listening) every Christmas season. It's a lovely story about a family facing the challenges of a new normal and finding the true meaning of Christmas.

What did you like best about this story?

The transformation of son Taylor when a dog named Thor comes into his life.

What does Mary Alice Monroe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I imagine she paced her narration the way she heard her characters when she wrote the novel. Not every author is the right narrator but I thought Monroe was for her novel.

If you could take any character from A Lowcountry Christmas out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I'd take Thor's trainer out to dinner. What she did was a great gift for one who has given so much. I'd like to learn more.

Recommended to anyone looking for good novel with a Christmas theme.

I Love Mary Alice Monroes sweet voice. She knows her characters and I would never want anyone else to read her novels

I say you might be disappointed in this book because only the epilog is about the girls, barely. The title is deceiving because you feel that this is going to be about a Christmas involving all 3 of the summer girls , Which it is not. The story is good but not what was expected!!

Beautiful story for Christmas Season

A wonderful book opening our eyes to an awful illness of our precious service men and women We appreciate their service our country and should do on part to help as we can. Anyone suffering with this illness will hopefully ask for a service dog it could make a difference for these men and and women to live a full and happy life This author has written a tribute to all that suffer and will hopefully help them and their families. If it reaches even one to help someone find happiness

I have fell in love with all of Mary Alice Monroe's books. The characters and stories keep you wanting more. They also feel like you are right there in the book. I could not put this book down. I read it in 24 hours. It's going to be a new Christmas Classic in my home!

I have read much about PTSD, but this is the first novel where it is a main component. The influence of service dogs is explored as help. It’s a major part of the storyline, but the exploration of Dickens’ novel is also important. And, as in her other works, Mary Alice Monroe’ exploration of family relationships is handled realistically and sympathetically.

I loved the whole series. The interaction of all the sister and how they came together. I loved you wrote about Taylor. I have a son, also Marine with PTSD
