Book 4 in the Zombie Road saga.

The world is recovering from a near extinction level event. Fortified enclaves and barricaded towns have managed to survive the long winter. Spring brings new hope and new beginnings. One boy, thrust too quickly into manhood, is learning to find his way in the new wastelands. With hopped up machines and purpose built muscle cars to run the roads, a new breed of pony express rider is born.

wow

David Simpson has done it again! I love this series and I hope that he continues on with it! The action is non stop and the story flows smoothly from book to book. The narrator.. well I honestly think this narrator makes a great book a fantastic book. He brings all the characters to life and makes you believe you are in it with them. Thank You David Simpson for another great book and yes I'm waiting for the next in the series.

Run Gunny Run. Go Jessie Go.

I am in love with this amazing series. Zombie Rd is now one of my favorite two zombie series. The other is The Undead by RR Haywood. In ZR my favorite characters are Gunny and his son Jessie. The first three books focused more on Gunny, but the fourth has Jessie more of a focus. Jessie is only a teenager but he is super enhanced and super tough. He has a side kick German Shepard named Bob. They are riding around the country finding other settlements and setting up trade between those settlements and Gunny/Jessie's home town, Lacoda. They run into good people and really bad actors. Jessie tries his luck with females, but so far he is not doing so well, mainly because he is so insecure about his scarred face and he thinks the girls do not really like him and are repulsed by him - which is not really the case.

Gunny is on the trail of Casey the Cannibal who has strengthened his gang into hundreds with the help of bad Lucinda. Madame President is ingratiating herself with Lucinda after escaping the worst of Casey's wrath. Casey, Lucinda and madame President are EVIL and I am looking forward to their demise. Right now, however, they are alive and chasing Gunny and his cohorts through the desolate countryside on the way to Lacoda. Another group of bad actors, led by a man who thinks he is an Eqyptian God, is also headed toward Lacoda. They have developed drugs that make them super human and allows them to mingle with the zombies without harm. I imagine the next book with feature another major battle for Lacoda waged by one or both of the two bad groups.

David Simpson is a master storyteller and keeps the action and suspense going along with respites of humor and goodness. He has created a cast of remarkable characters. Some are so likable, such as Gunny, Jessie, Cobb, Lars, Stabby, Bridgitte, Scratch, etc. Others, such as the ones I mentioned above, are delightfully evil and I enjoy despising them. Simpson's dialog is extraordinarily good and his action scenes are amazing. I am truly stirred up when Jessie goes into kill mode. He is awesome. The narrator is icing on the cake. Shelman is an extremely talented performer and breathes life into the characters with his accents and his acting abilities. I can't wait for book five where the saga will continue. Please Mr. Simpson, don't let anything bad happen to the good guys. It would be too much for me to handle!!!

Spectacularly apocalyptic

Another spectacular story in this world of the zombie apocalypse. Fantastic cast of characters exhilarating storyline and action-packed from beginning to end. Once you start reading it cannot put it down until you reach the end and then you just want more. Follow our cast through their adventures find out what happens Hooten holler when they win flinch when disaster strikes and hope they recover and succeed. I cannot wait until the next book to see what happens next. A definite must read started zombie road one and read all four books in the series so far. Enjoy

Skippy You Get Generic Tonight

This series started off good but has went downhill fast. The story offers nothing new or unique. The characters are all idiots and are ill defined. The narration is just standard. Again, nothing new or unique.

Burning a house full of cats

Loved the first three books this one was looking to be another great one then it got to the bit were Jessie goes into a house for some poptarts and finds a group of main coon cats

Which he decides to find some food in the house for to feed them he then gets attacked by one of them when he tries to stroke it and is then attacked by all of them he along with his dog kill a bunch of them while escaping the house which is kinda fair enough it's kill or be killed at that point and the cats are very likely feral or at least hate everything human shaped because of the zombies but when he and the dog get out of the house and there's two cats out there with them (the rest have stayed in the house)

one of which is on a shed roof hissing at them and the other is injured and limping back to the house instead of just leaving the place and the cats alone and continuing on with his journey he then shoots the cat or the shed roof, let's the dog kill the one limping back to the house, then fires a bunch of bullets into the house, closes the back door, blocks up the cat flap, splashes the house with petrol and sets fire to the place or at least that's what I guess happened as I skipped forward two minutes when it got to the splashing the house with petrol bit it didn't take a genius to figure out Jessie's next action I did consider stopping listening entirely but I paid money for this. Rant over

Yet another amazing zombie road read

Another brilliant listen! Carries on well from the last three with a big focus on Jessie and his travels, although all the other great characters from books 1 2 and 3 are in it too. Straight onto book 5 now and hope there will be more after that!

Great book

Love the series! Hate the fact it ended where it did and so quick. Gunny should definitely be the focus. Jesse is becoming whiny. Love the fact you call the suggestions from fans gross when so much in the book made my stomach turn! Would prefer zombie jerky to children being flayed and their faces worn. The writing was great and the characters surprisingly realistic. Can’t wait for the next book!
