Publisher's summary

Capturing the "lively sensuality" (Library Journal) of the passion-filled, near-future space colony of St. Helen's, the wildly popular alter ego of best-selling author Jayne Ann Krentz delivers "delectably entertaining paranormal romantic suspense" (Booklist).

Ever since a false tabloid story ruined her reputation and her interior design business, Zinnia Spring has been labeled the "Scarlet Lady" of St. Helen's. Now, headstrong Zinnia makes a living using her psychic abilities - a highly prized skill that attracts the attention of another planetary outcast, Nick Chastain. The rough-edged casino owner craves what he doesn't have-respectability - and he enlists Zinnia to help find his father's journal and dig up answers to his own mysterious past. Zinnia doesn't have to be psychic to know what else Nick wants; soon they're reaching the electrifying heights of ecstasy - and danger. For when a ruthless killer crosses their search, it will take everything in their power to keep their feet on terra firma and survive a deadly trap.

Psychic Vampire ?

Well written enjoyable story. Strong characters along with secondary characters that lead to possible future story.
Always a joy to read or listen to a Jayne Castle story. No psychic vampire just strong psychic talents. A wrong side of the blanket story of a boy and girl romance with a mystery to solve, more than one mystery that is.

More St Helens Matchmaking

Not necessary to read Amaryllis first, but it adds more to this second book in the series if you do.
Nick Chastain, casino owner, bastard, and social outsider, has determined to contract a marriage as part of his plan that will make him socially acceptable. Nick has maneuvered Mr Hobart Batt, the Synergistic Connections Counselor into registering and matching him, since he was successful in matching Lucas Trent and Amaryllis Lark.
Zinnia Spring is a high powered prism with a specialty in focusing Matrix talents. She has been working to turn negative into positive since she was declared unmatchable 4 years ago. She has contacted Nick about her missing client, poor Morris Fenwick, a Matrix talent book dealer who was in negotiations with him about his father’s missing journal.
Nick and Zinnia dance around each other professionally and personally as they negotiate the mystery of the journal, the myth of the third Chastain expedition, and their personal attraction.
Just who is the more paranoid or demanding?
Eby is fine as narrator.

LOVED IT!

It is great to finally have this series in good quality audio! I can’t wait for the third book to come out!

A few years back I listened to the cassettes, but the sound was not good at all.

I love these audiobooks, and highly recommend them!

Old book from Jayne castle

This is an old book and it shows the development of Jayne castle as a romance paranormal author. I can see the development to the harmony series ms castle settled on a better psychic premise and truly developed her series

An old favorite, 1st time listening to audio. ❤️

Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick is one of my all time favorite authors. I go to her books when I need to decompress, desire a Pick Me up read, or am simply looking for something light between other more intense novels. Her characters are honorable, smart, & the guys can handle complicated women. The dialogues are witty and the books read easily. These are not epic novels but rather delightfully fun escapes. Tanya Eny was great. Very Satisfied.

Maze of Horrors.

I read this book when I was younger, and I fell in love with the world building. I really liked the concept of the carnivorous maze. I would have like to have more adventure from that part of the story. Granted the main character is a bit of a stickler but it is still fun. I look forward to the next few books, the third one has always been my favorite. Narrator does a good job, not sure why there is so much negative review for her.
