Don't use a credit on this. Moderately passable

In one sentence: It was OK, but whoever let Benji read should be fired.
Detail: I understand why the authors felt that they should read the book. I don't understand why the engineers allowed them to. Sean was ok, his chapters were listenable. Benji, brother, you do good things but as Gary says, you need to know your strengths. Reading aloud is not your strong suit. This should have been passed to a professional narrator. They have a chapter in the book about hiring out jobs that a creator doesn't want to/or can't do... for the revision include "reading the audio version" as a job to be hired out.
As for the meat of the book, it was ok. There isn't really much new in here, and some things are rushing up to their expiration date. One point was the focus on (unpaid) internships. Yes, it is tempting to pull a Tom Sawyer and try to get someone to paint the fence for you, but a couple of the examples seemed to strain at the bounds of ethics.

To Sean and Benji: I know this is a somewhat harsh critique, but I think you guys can do better. This book was released in March 2019, so I would have expected more recent examples. Even if it meant that this revision was different in some places than the print versions (and screwing up whispersync).

nothing special. lots of promises about how to make a YouTube channel that you need to sign up for their classes to realize. why am I paying for an audiobook that is a commercial for the author's courses. greedy bastards weren't satisfied with my audiobook purchase they now want me to signup for their classes.

Full of practical and up to date ideas and tips

This book was great. I think I will be referencing it several times. Great advice and it give you a blueprint of what you need to do exactly to build and excel in your YouTube channel. I’m so glad I finally got the opportunity to listen to it!

Content always trumps technique!

Sean and Benji are great guys and I love their content. Their hard work, preparation and experience are evident herein. They are not, however, skilled narrators. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, despite the "rough around the edges" presentation!

great book from 2 trusted and proven Youtubers

I read the book a couple months ago and now listened to it in one night also, recommended you do both also, while listening you can just soak it in while working on other stuff which I like but sitting down and reading definitely helps as well

I'm very glad a read this book.

These to two are really honest and want you to do well. This is not a fluff book trying to sell a backdoor product, but a great honest effort to get you some motivation and examples of people on YouTube.

Could it have gotten more advanced and deeper? sure but who cares still worth reading.

Must read if you are going to start a YouTube channel

Sean and Benji really know there stuff

What a great story and book, the pricaplals they teach here are mind blowing and yet so easy, if you are on YouTube you need to be implementing the strategies taught in this book that goes double if you are trying to be a full time creator.

Good but wish there was more content

I love these guys and follow their Youtube channel. The book is a bit incomplete though. They spend more time talking about them and not about growing the readers channels. Save your money and just watch their amazing youtube videos - they're way better

Too bad that the book just scratches the surface. No indept information at all. Just basic knowledge.

You will find it anywhere for free on YouTube, they just trying to make extra money selling this with basic info that won’t benefit anyone unless he never did research on YouTube

I wish the topic of copyrights was discussed thoroughly. As it can break the whole channel.

Cheap attempt to upsell you

There is only ONE objective in this book, that is to lure you into buying Sean's training - which puts you into the endless loops of upsells.

Avoid this book, there is NOTHING of value that isn't released on his and many much better youtube channels.

Do not buy any of this mans courses - even if you spend $1k on his course and you pay for additional upsells, you will still (at best) be one of 100 people on a call trying to get questions answered.

A Phenomanl Book

While the title is true, it did not have some topics that are needed for growth at first like SEO, algorithm information and other metrics.I already know these topics but it would be nice to hear Sean's or Benji's tips on it
