Amazing and easy read

This book is full of both everyday basic wisdom and deep life changing revelations. It is very well read and goes by in a flash. I started it over as soon as it was finished!! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to delve deeper into themselves and any artistic or creative endeavors.

A ‘Quick Check’ for every actor at any part of your career!

I follow Benjamin Mathes’s acting school, Crash Acting, on Instagram. So I was not surprised by the value that this book offered in such a rapid way.

Acting is such a complex career. The doing of the craft is never done, the industry is always evolving, and all the while you have to manage yourself. The last bit is usually the hardest part. This book is a quick check to your ego that you should require yourself to listen to monthly. It doesn’t matter if you experienced success or failure in that time. Life doesn’t give us what we want on a whim because we deserve the growth that’s waiting in the journey. This book is the answer to keeping yourself on track in the best of times and the worst. You may not realize it but your career can span over the course of multiple decades; if you want it to. The life you live, the memories you make, and the quality of life you live is up to you. Follow the advise in this book and you’ll build a life worth remembering.

Quick and Concise
I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the chapters were quick and to the point. This is because the messages were precise in connecting with the truth of experiences and emotions. Meanwhile the explanation was put in a way that would allow the reader to recognize it in their own life.

Wake Up Calls
The only way out of a rut is to put your head down and keep your legs moving. That can lead you in directions that don’t end where you set out to be. However, with the knowledge in this book you’ll have clear and focused goals that will guide you towards the success you were actually after. At the end of each month read this book, quick check your ego, and get yourself realigned. You’ll be so glad you did.

In the arena mentality
This book spoke to me because the advice and insights it offers is the likes that you’ll only get while your in the ‘arena’. Sure, when you’re sitting on your couch at home acting looks great. The performing is just a small portion of this industry. Everything else is rarely talked about. You spend 90% of your time looking for work, being rejected, and trying to make rent. You do that for years on end and eventually treading water can start to feel like drowning. Your passion can go out. The industry can suffocate the best of us. This book acknowledges it. Then gives you insights into how to overcome it. Hollywood is a fast paced and competitive environment but that doesn’t mean that you have to sell your soul to do what you love. Thanks to, the brilliant, Benjamin Mathes there is a safe and welcoming environment built out of community and support instead of ruthless competition.
